Iznogud (4495) - CROATIA - FEB 20, 2017
Bottle, 355 ml trade with TimE (thanks for this one!), shared with Max and JFK10000. Pours brown, no head. Chocolate, some bourbon, bit of fruit, sweet. Warming, soft carbonation, oily. Medium bodied.

HonusWagner (2232) - Florida, USA - AUG 24, 2016
A really nice slightly fruity barrel-aged stout, impressive stuff, the best of this kind of beer I’ve tried in Japan. Mikkeller pop-up bar, Tokyo, May 2016.

Clear golden pour with some head and lacing. Nicely balanced and finishes clean. Fantastic about the charity connection.

Bottle. Bourbon BA version. Without carbonation. Has all the hallmarks of a world class IRS, tons of character, vanilla, dark chocolate, plum etc. With Carb this would be world class.

chuwy (51) - JAPAN - APR 28, 2016
Served on handpump at the temporary pop up mikkeller bar in Tokyo at the AJB tap take over event.
Aroma big alcohol, whisky and bourbon made me think it was 10-12%ABV. I also picked up cocoa powder, sugar.
Little in the way of legs as the glass was swirled. No head. Seemed thick black and a little viscous from initial sight.
Initial taste was stale oxidation and metallic. Very light and thin bodied for an impy stout. Tasted lighter, like 8%. Barrel flavors fade nicely. Vanilla and coconut in the end palate. Nice and very easy to drink, though I prefer more body and viscosity in my impy stouts.

maekchu (4069) - Hirakata, JAPAN - MAR 30, 2016
Bottle. Nose of chocolate, yeast, berries, dark fruit, and alc. fumes. Dark brown color, with somewhat translucent edges. Rich dark fruit initial flavor, sweet and moderate chocoalte. Medium bosy, and quite warming. Thick, fruity, delicious stuff.

3.9

Bottle. Nose of soy sauce, cocoa/chocolate, coffee, some alcohol burn, with some berries, pear. A bit boozy, sweet, cola, chocolate, apple-pear, soy flavors. Rather complex and quite nice.

12 ounce bottle thanks to ferris. Pours a clear black color with a small white head. A big sweet cocoa bourbon nose. The flavor is sweet chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, a thin palate. Very smooth. Solid. Quite sweet.

EdKing (2655) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 28, 2015
Bottle care of Tim Maloney on his recent UK stop over. Opaque very dark brown to black beer with a tan head. Nose is husky grain, roasted malt, lactic milky, milk chocolate, vanilla, light bourbon, ale fruity, coconut. Taste is soft and smooth. Nicely balanced. Lactic, milk chocolate, roasted malt, husky grain, light bourbon, vanilla.
