Bottle @ The BeerMongers... Poured dark brown with a thin head. This was quite ashy. No where near smoke but tasted like burnt earth and dirt. Low bitterness, roasty malts. Easy drinking. Cocoa, coffee, mocha, and a burnt sweetness.
Bottle from the dregs run. 7.2%. Pours clear dark brown with a thick off-white head. Aromas of nutty malt caramel and light chocolate. Taste is light sweet, hazelnut and malted biscuit. Chewy finish. Stuu666 (13007) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUN 17, 2017

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a semi-dark brown color with a finger’s worth of off-white foamy head that dissipated at a decent pace. Spider-web lacing slides into the beer nicely.
The aroma takes on smooth crisp sweet nuttiness rolling over a sweet bready/biscuity soothing quality. Sly milk chocolate. Some caramel malt. Quick earthy hops underneath.
The flavor blends the sweet malty notes over the earthy hops, remains sweet all throughout. Smooth silky nutty sweet to chocolatey aftertaste rolling into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Oddly enough, the ABV doesn’t seem to hit hard. Soft carbonation.
Overall, imperialized brown ale, yes, that’s exactly what this is. And makes for a nice one to have in the winter despite if this says it comes out in the Summer.

Bomber bought at Amsterdam’s BeerTemple and shared with Craftmember at his place. Strong English-inspired but heavily ’Americanized’ brown ale, opening with a lot of pressure and even slight but completely manageable gushing. Towering high (inches thick even with careful pouring), regular, creamy, dense, ’papery’ lacing, pale beige head over a hazy mahogany brown beer with warmer burgundy hue. Aroma of chestnuts and chestnut sauce, marmelade, strawberry wine, caramel, biscuit, toffee, something vaguely sweaty, fresh fig, Sultana raisins, honey cookies, soggy toast, hay, iron. Old raisins and dried fig sweetness in the onset but restrained, paired with an elegant, ’dim’ blackcurrant sourishness; rounded, smooth mouthfeel. Very light metallic touch in the middle, accompanying a nutty, eventually toasted bitter malt profile, a bit creamy thanks to a caramelly sweetish edge, but otherwise bone dry in its general flavour. This dryness is further accentuated in the finish by a herbal and mildly peppery hop bitterness with spicy and even dried grapefruit peel-like properties; alcohol remains well hidden. Elegant, tasty beer, very typical for the modern American interpretation of the old English brown ale. Enjoyed this. stchloe (1017) - Portland, Oregon, USA - OCT 15, 2016

650ml bottle. Nutty brown colour, very frothy tan coloured head that lasted to the end of the glass. Bready, malty aroma, caramel in there too. Taste is caramel, slightly treacly with a sweet fruity finish. Alcohol on the finish too __Rb81 (789) - NETHERLANDS - JAN 23, 2016
