COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Smooth, rich and creamy. Rye malt blends with roast and chocolate malts to create a new and delicious stout profile, balanced with soft and velvety hops. This northwest original is poured using the traditional nitrogen dispensing method, so it may take an extra minute to arrive, but the wait is worth it. The Black Bear won the Gold Medal at the 2003 GABF in the foreign-style stout category. Have a pint of Stout with the Seven-Barrel Burger or the Beer Battered Onion Rings.

Piwo czarne geste i nieprzezroczyste. Piana malenka ale bardzo ciemna brazowa. Zapach smoly rumu i czekolady goracej do picia. W smaku zbyt slodkie sporo nut palonych i czekolady ale mlecznej. Piwo przy 7% alc bardzo ciezkie, degustacyjne. Koncowka niczym tiramisu posypane spora dawka cukru

Sterke rogge geur. Grappig.

Buena.

Bottle from New Seasons Woodstock. A: Pure black with a thin cappuccino head and a lick of lacing. N: Very chocolately with a big undercurrent of espresso and roast. Rye shows up in an earthiness and peppercorn which is reminiscent of so much whiskey. I get a noticeable element of clover honey from the nose as well, and a bit of wood and graininess. Some raisin in here as well. T: Quite bitter with a touch of sweetness to compensate. M: Medium body, no alcohol presence. tickling carbonation. O: A fine export stout. This is really well done and it leans towards a smokier side which quite a few stouts shy away from. I can dig it.

65cl bottle, Shared with friends. Black colour with nice tan head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, licorice and hints of yeast. Taste is pretty much the same with coffee notes added. Also some smoke. Moderately bitter aftertaste, more coffee-like than hoppy. Medium/full body, good carbonation. A very easy going and tasty Stout.
