On tap at Tugboat, Portland. Black with a small tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate and some light ash. Sweet and not that interesting to be honest. SirLimpsalot (4238) - SWEDEN - MAR 9, 2016
@ Tugboat 16-3-8: inte alls spännande. Lite mer rostade toner än en Guinness och med några små chokladtoner. bb (9268) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 9, 2013
Draft. Russian Imperial Stout. Black beer with a tan head. Light chocolate and rich malt aroma. Rich malt and light chocolate flavor with light roast. Medium-plus bodied. Rich malt and light chocolate lingers with light roast. neepsntatties (1988) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 3, 2010
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2013 This is a re-rate. On nitro at Alameda Brewhouse. Colour...black with the typical cascading tan head of a stout on nitro. Nose...chocolate cream and chocolate truffle with hints of roasted nuts and coffee. Palate...silly smooth with plenty of nitro froth followed by a tangy dark chocolate flavour, a bittering of hops on the side of the palate. There’s an ever present dry earth flavour that seems to last during the whole experience but it seems to temper the tanginess. A much better effort by Alameda than when I had this in 2009. bhensonb (15188) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 12, 2009
Tap at the brewpub as Russian Imperial Stout. Black toast aroma. Full body; creamy carbonation. Treacle, burnt malt and a touch of coffee. Really smooth. Not syrupy. Good stuff. Touch of citrus popped up.

Draught (nitro) at Rose & Raindrop, Portland. Dark black, creamy head. Chocolate aroma. Sweet with thick, soft but syrupy mouthfeel. Lots of molasses, some tar and coffee. Salty, bitter finish. Too sweet and one-dimensional. Oakes (17664) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 1, 2006
Huge chewy flavour. Major burnt and dark fruit character, with dark chocolate as well. Aromawise, very little of this actually gets through the nitro. The finish is almost syrupy.
