COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With an appealing amber color, this brew has a perfect balance of caramel malt and spicy hop flavors. The Munich malt in this recipe lends a rich mouth feel, while generous additions of Pacific-Northwest hops complete the balance. Try a pint of Pale with the Salmon Gyros, Falafel or Alameda Dip.

Aroma of biscuity malt, some caramel, earthy hops. Flavour is moderate sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Not much in the way of fruits, more of an earthy malty aroma. Carbonation is rather high. Id say this is average at best, I like my APA a lot more fruity. Taking into account that I had an old bottle (well over a year old), I wouldnt mind trying a fresher specimen one day.

Another nice Pacific Northwest style American Pale Ale. One in a million, but still good.

Aroma of tropical fruits, mango, pineapple. Malty taste, some grass, faint hops, less fruity than the aroma suggested, light hay. Finishes with a light bitterness that seems to build up. Medium thin body, good carbonation. Okay, nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear dark amber color with a moderate off white head on there. Nose is grassy and earthy and not all that inviting. Taste is a bit bitter and just not interesting. Bleh.

Pours a hazy golden amber with frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, light sourness and caramel malt sweetness. Taste is citrus, light pine, some caramel and an off tartness that dominates the finish. Smooth bitterness is in the background but this one is just off.

Bottle (22oz $5): Cloudy darkish orange with huge white head. Very high carbonation which I think amplies the bitterness/harshness making this drink unpleasant.

Keg at the brewpub, PDX, 11/11/14. Rich amber with a moderate light beige covering. Nose is earthy hops, orange pith, straw. Taste comprises orange squash, light grapefruit, citric peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Pretty basic APA, lacks any real hoppy punch.

Bottle at SMF 2014. Fruity smell, hoppy with citrus. Very high carbonation and very harsh and hard to drink.

Hazy brown with massive unstable head. Strong yeasty aroma. Flavour also yeasty and its overcarbonated. Maybe some defects in this one. A fair amount of malts in the background. Also some plastic. Not good.
