COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
With an appealing amber color, this brew has a perfect balance of caramel malt and spicy hop flavors. The Munich malt in this recipe lends a rich mouth feel, while generous additions of Pacific-Northwest hops complete the balance. Try a pint of Pale with the Salmon Gyros, Falafel or Alameda Dip.

354ml can from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. Amber brown, clear, with only a tiny bit of visible carbonation and resultant head. Nose is bursting with pine resin. I dont get much else - maybe a hint of woodchips- so this a hells rsinous beverage. Taste is less intense. The bittersweet malt/hops balance overrides the savoury piney element. Surprising bitter note in the aftertaste. Pretty good.

Can from Coppers, Newcastle. Hazy dark amber in colour with a thin white head. It has a red fruit and spicy tropical fruit flavour with a smooth, creamy bitter orange and pine finish.

355 ml. can with no date at home. Hazy orange amber, big milky tanned head. Nose is sweet yoghurt yeast, strange oily yoghurt pine hop, vegetable hop & flower hop. Taste is oily, caramel toffee with odd herbal bitterness, bitter roots, nuts, creamy milky bodied, toffee. Lingering bitter roots. Passeable for sure, stand everyday beer, milky nature helps it there issome toffee & biscuit. Bitterness is a bit odd, milky character is a tad too high.

Maybe it was just a bad pint, but I thought the beer was a little bland in taste. Could have been I was comparing it to the previous glass of their IPA. Probably a decent beer. Looks nice and smells good, but the flavor falls a little short.

22oz. bottle from Johns Market. Pours a moderately opaque, deep amber color. Big assed off-white head issues forth and slowly recedes, fantastic lacing. Wonderful "C" hop aroma, lightly floral, moderately citric. Body is just a bit disappointing. Not terrifically light but seemingly missing something, hard to describe but there. Flavor is nicely balanced with some caramel sweetness and a moderate hop bitterness and flavor. Decently done, scoring higher if it didnt have that void.
