COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name of this beer style comes from the German word “alt” meaning “old”. This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most ales. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors in Alaskan Amber, contributing to its overall balance and smoothness.

A great tasting amber with a heavy flavor and easy drinkability. A secret in the beer world as everyone I have turned on to this is happily surprised and repeat customers.

Draft at Kasey's Tavern in Chicago. This is a chewy, rich, malty beer. Toasty bread and grain. Dry, crisp, clean finish. Always great to find an American Altbier on draft.

12oz bottle from Raven Cafe, Prescott, AZ. A dark amber colour with a tight cream head; sweet malt aroma; taste of fruity malts and caramel; and a lingering malty finish. A mellow and pleasant amber ale.

From a bottle poured into a shaker. Medium bodied fruity and juicy alt. A little light on the maltiness but I think that adds to the drinkability. Solid beer.

Can at airplane. The color is clear mahogany with a light beige head. A little careful and malty aroma of bread, wood, grass and some dried fruit and acetone. Sweet and malty flavor with dried fruit, rye bread, leather, heather honey and grass in a dry ending. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light to medium bitterness. A malty and fine altbier with a nice bitterness.
