COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name of this beer style comes from the German word alt meaning old. This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most ales. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors in Alaskan Amber, contributing to its overall balance and smoothness.

(08.11.06) 12 oz brown bottle from Liquid Solutions. Bottle labeled 8/17/06. Caramel aroma. Poured clear amber with small off-white head. No discernable carbonation. Medium bodied ale that starts with light malt sweetness and caramel/toasted malt flavors. Finished dry with light malt fade. No discernable hop presence. Smooth and well-balanced. A very good drinkable ale.

Originally rated on 1/20/2009. A nice amber body with ample carbonation, good lace left on my glass. Flavor was caramel malts with a hint of nuts, slightly sweet finish. Crisp carbonation bite, with not much aftertaste. My first alt beer was pretty decent.

Clean dark amber colour, small white head. Aroma of caramel, malt, grain, toffee, honey. Sweet lightly dry taste, subtle bitterness in finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Very nice.

Draft, 16floz pint. presented a clear copper-amber, with very little head. Buttery caramel nose transcends to highly malty beverage with just enough hops to balance. An okay drinking beer that is firmly medium in body, although a bit syrupy. Pretty bland, Ive had better alts/amber ales-lagers.

Pours amber from the bottle with an off white head. Aroma is caramel. Taste is sweet, lots of caramel, and light red berry undertones. Body stays rather light. Decent if unexciting.

Robe ambre et limpide. Armes caramel. Got malt et caramel. Lgres notes de banane. Texture assez fluide. La carbonatation est fine et moyennement abondante. Le caramel reste en bouche. Bonne mais sans complexit.

Dark cola color with an off white head and some lacing. Malty aroma and a rather sweet flavor. Coats the mouth with a malty flavor with just a touch of hop bitterness. I really enjoyed this and could see it being a great one to have on a summer day.

One of the classic ambers on the market pours a dark reddish brown with a developed head off off-white foam. Lightly sweet notes of caramel grain and biscuit. Some floral/earthy hops to balance out the sweetness.

Bottle from trade with CH-303, many thanks. Amber color with thick off-white head. Caramel, red fruits, light hops in aroma. Taste of caramel malt, some roastiness, nuts.

Pours a clear reddish Amber. Aroma of syrupy malt sweetness and a biscuity note. Taste is malt-forward with a healthy honey sweetness. Offset nicely with an earthy hoppy note that allows it to finish dry. A little sweet for the style but great from a drinkability standpoint.
