Bottled. Amber/copper coloured, small head. Aroma is American hops, just lovely in this one. Flavour is grassy, caramellish and very dry. Aftertaste is hayish and grassy hops. Boring, if compared to the aroma.

Draught at Alaska Lodge (Sea-Tac Airport)
Dark amber color with compact head. Smell of cleaning products (the glass?) and some nice caramel. Strong caramel flavor with a mild animal component. Strong bitterness. Not really an ESB, more an American thing; not bad.

TBone (16630) - Pori, FINLAND - OCT 2, 2006
Bottled. Amber color, small tan head. bready, hoppy, quite APA/IPA-like aroma. Very malty, a bit of citrus, then burst of hoppy bitterness. not similar to English ESB - really American version. Long bitter aftertaste. Nice balance of hops and malts.

Aroma of floral hop and malt. Seems balanced. Red copper color with a light beige head. It seems to lace. As the glass approaches the nose, the malt aroma dominates. A strong carbonation. Then roasted, but not dark, malt overwhelms things. Ends a bit watery and malty sweet. But when the malty sweetness drains away, there is some noticeable hop bitterness. I dont think its balanced, but there is interplay.

BeerandBlues2 (12686) - Escondido, California, USA - DEC 21, 2006
Draught. Pours clear amber with a small white rocky head, somewhat diminishing with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (straw, grain), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of apples and roasted vegetables. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness; husky grain and sour yeast flavor. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation and a metallic, bitter finish.

Dogbrick (12383) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 14, 2008
Sample in the Alaskan tap room. This brew is a lightly hazed copper color with a medium thin and foamy off-white head that diminishes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Hops, citrus and earthy malt aroma. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with hops, caramel and biscuity malt flavors. The finish is hoppy and lingering, with a touch of sweetness in the mix. Above average overall.
