Fantomasus' rating

2.7
   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 2/5   OVERALL 12/20
Fantomasus (291) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 1, 2013
Pours a hazy amber with a one inch white head. Appearance would be rated higher but there is something oily about it that looks unappetizing. Aroma is pleasant but uneventful: light caramel, light citrus, no yeast (or at least very hard to describe). Taste is fairly balanced with a nod towards sour/biter. Medium body with an unpleasant thin, oily feel. Unwelcome astringent, bitter finish. Will not buy again.

Bottle enjoyed on our verandah of the Celebrity Millennium in Juneau so I’msure that influenced the rating. Nose tropical fruit, mango, light pale malt. Taste light bitter up front, then some fruit hop. Light grainy late. Mid palate sweet malt.

Deep golden color out of the bottle with a quickly shrinking white head. Grapefruit citrus hops in the nose. Caramel sweetness with bitter grapefruit, a harsh grass and a little tropical fruit in the finish. Nice hoppy pale ale.

Brandon1989 (660) - Lewisville, Texas, USA - JAN 9, 2017
Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a nice thick two finger head. There is plenty of lacing left behind on the glass. The aroma is some pine with some citrus juice mixed in there. The aroma is much stronger than the actual flavor. The pine is faint and the flavor is more on the citrusy side. There is some white bread in the flavor as well.
