Draft: Poured an orange color with off white head. Aroma is hop but light and some malts. Taste is a nice influx of hops on bold malts. OldGrowth (3665) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Pint at Humpy’s. Ok aroma. Sweet. Citrus, grapefruit. Little grassy, sourdough. Clean reddish orange color, ok head and lace. Bittersweet flavor. Medium body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, bitterdry finish. Ok, not getting as much as I’d of thought from aroma. easy drinking kind of brew. Firetap Anchorage. Clear amber color/ beige head. Mild spicy caramel, earthy hop aromas. medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel. lightly sweet and spicy caramel, toffee flavors with subtle spicy, dry earth, nicely bitter finish.
On tap @ Humpy’s. Clear copper with a medium off white head. Aroma of biscuits, caramel, lemon and a light herbal quality. The flavor is very smooth toasty malt with just a mellow hop bitterness. Medium body with average carbonation and a smooth, creamy mouth feel. Great example of the style, reminds me of a hopped up version of their old ESB.
