Pours a hazy amber brown color with a white head. Coffee, caramel, toffee, toast, nut and chocolate aroma and flavors. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Caramel, coffee and nut finish.
Discernible coffee and yet refreshing, like a deliberately cold long black.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. The beer is a clear brown with a beige head of foam. The aroma has coffee grounds and malt balls. Sweet with a coffee ground finish. Some burnt toffee nut notes as well. Medium body and medium carbonation. shigadeyo (3797) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 27, 2017
11/27/2017 (12 fl oz bottle): Aroma of brown sugar, milk chocolate, and lightly roasted coffee; deep amber to brown color, clean complexion, fleeting off-white head; caramel maltiness and vanilla sugar, roasty with more coffee notes as it warms, but it's still not overpowering; medium body, average texture and mouthfeel; really balanced coffee and brown ale, I liked this one quite a bit. donandres (681) - Makati, PHILIPPINES - NOV 23, 2017

Sight: dark amber, appears clear, small foam
Smell: fragrant, strong coffee aroma
Taste: medium bitterness, some sweetness, no depth, no bold taste
Mouthfeel: medium carbonation, creamy, sweet follow through, long finish, bitter aftertaste
Overall: very good beer, veryfragrant, ok to repeat,
Bottle from Jungle Jim's pour dark copper with thin ecru head. Nose lots of coffee, red fruit, sweet malt. Taste caramel sweet malt up front, then good coffee. Light mineral.

Amber light brown. Short head. Clear. Nice dank coffee aroma chocolate and roast. Malty taste, smooth, somewhat sweet, mild roast, chocolate, some acidity, good finish. Good. nuplastikk (6479) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 23, 2017
12oz bottle. Wow. Alaskan just blows it out of the water with the one. Pretty much an optimum coffee brown ale if you ask me. Notably clean and fresh. Big coffee tone. Drinks almost medium bodied, which is all the more impressive with the ABV. Perfect balance. Fair price just makes it that much better. Awesome, World Class beer. wlajwl (7127) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - SEP 22, 2017
Aroma is coffee, fruit/berries and mild sweetness. The flavor is coffee, fruit, mild sweetness and an acidic/malty finish. Unde (1162) - Helsinki, FINLAND - SEP 13, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 13, 2017 Nice clear copper to brown colour with small bubbly head that went away quickly leaving only tiny layer on top of the beer. Aroma has huge coffee note, black coffee, dark chocolate, espresso coffee, roasted malts and more coffee. Taste starts with roasted malts, then coffee kicks in, dark black coffee and ends with dark chocolate, cocoa and mocha flavours which are rather splendid together. Fullish body and highish carbonation. It seems that to make a great brown ale, just pour some coffee in it. This is so good.
