UPDATED: JUL 5, 2015 Aroma: intense tropical fruits, mango, passion fruit. Appearance: clear gold, small, creamy, white head. Taste: light sweet. Palate: tropical fruits continue and intensify, bitters coming up, floral hops, some pine, soft carbonation, medium body, dry finish. Overall: nice IIPA, fantastic aroma. Bottle from the brewery, Juneau. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JAN 19, 2015
Looks like this was recently brought back. On tap over the weekend at the brewery.
Several sample glasses.
The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a thick one finger foamy white head that dissipated within less than a minute. Light lacing speckled the sides of the glass.
The smell had a fairly good bitter citrus leading to a dry caramel malty aroma.
The taste took those flavors to combine and make bittersweet. There’s a fairly long bittersweet citrus aftertaste leading to a dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good DIPA that I would have again. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 30, 2014
