COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Alaskan Raspberry Wheat is an American-style Wheat Ale that highlights the bright flavors and inviting aroma of more than 3,000 pounds of real raspberries added during fermentation. Years of local demand through Alaskan’s Rough Draft program of draft-only releases and a Silver medal from the 2008 Great American Beer Festival make Alaskan Raspberry Wheat the perfect brew to launch the Alaskan Pilot Series.

On sale, likely a little past its prime. Yeasty and wheat up front, a touch dusty, with light tart raspberry. Not bad, but glad I never paid the premium price tag either.

On tap @ Alaskan Brewing Company. Lots of raspberry. Decent balance. Dry, sweet aftertaste. Just a bit too one-sided.

Draft pour pint at the beer authority. Pours a clear reddish copper color with a quick fizz head. Fresh grape and raspberry aroma. Flavor closely matches. No suprises here. Tastes just how I expected, which is quite good. Nice, juicy, flavorful summer beer in my opinion. Good stuff.

Poured from a bomber into a weizen glass in late 2013. A: Red, caramel color. Large fluffy head. S: Raspberry, wheat. T: Follows the nose along with some banana and very slight bitterness. M: Creamy smooth. O: This review is from my notes for the 2013 version. The raspberry went very well with the wheat and banana flavors. It did have a very slight edge to it, but that faded quickly. I loved it and wish that I could have had the 2014 version, but it was only released in Alaska this time.
