3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a cloudy amber orange with no head. Could be more attractive. Very clear raspberry aroma with a wheat aftertaste. Strong carbonation. Overall very good.
22 ounce bottle into pint glass, best before 10/1/2016. Pours slightly hazy deep orange/amber light reddish/copper color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of raspberries, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness; and tangy fruit tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, wheat, cracker, biscuit dough, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great robustness and balance of raspberries, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/tartness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/tart/tangy notes as well. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy/creamy, and slightly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is a great fruit beer! All around great robustness and balance of raspberries, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink with the lightly tart/tangy/bitter finish. Perfectly balanced fruit and pale/wheat malts, with just enough hop presence to balanced the sweetness. Never slick or syrupy from fruit notes. A very enjoyable offering. Bottle at backyard fire, reddish amber beer, slightly pink foam dissapeared. Aroma is berries and malt. Taste is raspberries, malt, peach pit and black pepper. Palate is light, carbonation average. I wanted this to be worse than it is, but it’s actually a decent fruit beer. mjmoen (549) - - MAY 8, 2017

On sale, likely a little past its prime. Yeasty and wheat up front, a touch dusty, with light tart raspberry. Not bad, but glad I never paid the premium price tag either.
