This pouerd dark red with a beige head and thick lacing. The nose was ripe fruit and alcohol, with the hint of the oak. Medium plus in body and with a mouthfeel with alcoholic burn. Flavor is rich sweet malts with some pepper spice, pus vanilla, and again the alcohol is clearly present. The oak in in the sweet finish. This is a rich brew, and would be better if the alcohol was not so present so as to interfere with the flavors. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 28, 2013
Bomber. Poured clear, fiery reddish-orange with a short cap of smoky beige head. The aroma picked up sweet, toasted fruits, molasses, and bready notes with leafy and black peppery accents.. warm and sugary, but I kind of dug it. The flavor found syrupy caramel and molasses, with toasty, tangy oak and darker fruits around.. finished sweet and warm, with nice yeast and oaky complements. Medium-plus bodied and fairly thick across the middle.. smooth, consistent carbonation.. a couple too many residual sugars in the end, but overall a very good beer. bottle. poured a deep brown with the carbonation of an old cask. smells of gum vanilla and caramel. thick and sweet. lots of candy and a bit of boozey bit. sat thick on my tongue throughout this. wish this was a bit more carbed. bubblegum a shit ton of caramel with a bit of fruit. not a repeat purchase for me. akoeninger (763) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 25, 2013
22 oz. Deep amber, limited lacing. Dark fruit, sweet woodsy smell, vanilla. Hint of alcohol. Taste is very sweet, again with dark fruit and vanilla and oak, strong malt background. Some alcohol, a hint of bitterness, sticky malt feel. stumpyiliz (218) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAR 25, 2013
Nice clear pour with a fast dissipating head. Crisp sweet German malts are abound in this sweet malty brew. Nose of the wood and caramel. Finish is sweet and a light bit of oAk. Went down way too fast and I don’t even like bocks.

Pours a dark amber, with ample tan head. Aroma of sweet malts. Taste is sweet and malty, with notes of wood. You can taste the 10.5% alcohol in there too! Thumbs up. savnac (2391) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - MAR 21, 2013
22oz bottle. Clear amber with a thick, dense, khaki head. Aroma of toffee, wood, fruity esters and vanilla. Flavor is sweet caramel/toffee malt, fruity ale yeast esters, vanilla oak and a slight alcohol warming. Medium to full body with a sticky, syrupy mouth feel. In the style of a Doppelbock this thing is horrible, call it an American strong ale and it’s decent. Way too much ale yeast character and sweetness to be a Doppelbock. beernovice39 (3270) - Idaho, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Bottle pours a copper brew with a thin off white head. Scent is sweet with caramel and smoke. Taste is sweet, very sweet with caramel, dark fruit and yeast. nuplastikk (6313) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 16, 2013
22oz bomber split with Anndiesel. Filtered stained-glass ruby red. Thin beige head. Sweet, fruit tinged aroma. Quite an interesting beer. Mellows as it approaches room temp. Has a touch of a malt extract/ added sugar feel, though, which makes a lot of sense for a 10.5% Doppelbock. Pretty drinkable clean feel with the filtering. A respectable enough offering, a nice oaky, sweet taste over a big fruity malt undertone. bb (9519) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 14, 2013
Bottle. Copper beer with a cream head. Smoke and light sweet malt aroma with a little vanilla. Nice smoke flavor with caramel and vanilla. Medium bodied. Caramel and vanilla linger with smoke and light dark fruit.
