Bomber shared by Marcus. Pours dark orange amber with no head. Aroma is treacle. Med body. Flavor is treacle, malty, lightly fruity. Getting toffee. Heat is noticeable. Oak astringency in the finish. Good! Ratman197 (15368) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - APR 7, 2013

This one jsut didn’t work. I think the base doppelbock is a bit weak. It is sugary and boozy.

Sample at the Memorial Day Deck Beers tasting on 05/27/2013: Pours a clear dark mahogany color with a medium thick off-white head that diminishes slowly. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, oak and plum. Full, syrupy body with flavors of earthy malt, figs and oak. The finish is rich and malty with a dark fruit aftertaste. Pretty good overall. slowrunner77 (12895) - Reno, Nevada, USA - NOV 19, 2015
Toast biscuit and caramel do dominate, just as the descristion says. Pretty warming, medium bodied, a touch of dried fruit. Perhaps a tad too warming, but nice overall. deyholla (12289) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 29, 2013
Bottle thanks to a trade! Pours a clear deep sappy amber with a gray head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has a nice sweet grain, biscuit and toffee note with a bit of fruits and some backing oak and vanilla notes. Flavor starts with biscuit and toffee and has more oak, roasted malts and vanilla in the finish with a touch of dark fruits. BVery (11361) - Plymouth, Minnesota, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Tap at Muddy Pig. Clear ruby pour with a white head. Lots of caramel and dark fruit. Full flavored and full palate. cubs (10714) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - APR 23, 2013
Bottle @ home, picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a clear, rust orange appearance with a creamy, brown head. Hazelnutty, caramel, toffee, somewhat fruity, banana bread aroma. Soft carbonation. Slightly weird herbal/organic/woody, apple/banana, burnt black bread, caramel, toasty flavor with a bit of chocolate and vanilla. The oak kind of adds a strange flavor to the beer. Not sure I like its addition.
