Draft at the Seattle taproom, Seatac airportfiulijn (21511) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2014
Deep amber pour, little head. Nose of rye, lime, weed. Flavor dominated by the rye, quite chewy and backed up with a leafy hop profile with a slight citrus underbody. Contra the commercial description this is more a showcase for the rye than the hops in my view. Enjoyable.
Draught at Seattle Tap Room (Sea-Tac Airport)maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - FEB 5, 2014
Hazy amber color with creamy head. Interesting aroma: creamy and nutty, impression of hazelnut ice cream. Good body structure; malt and caramel flavor with mild toffee and nuts feeling; strong bitterness, although the final is rather boring.
Draught in a flight. Pours a clear amber color. The rye in this one will smack you in the face. It is rye dominant, and overwhelms the nose of this, though pleasantly. The spiciness from the rye is quite inviting. The taste is a little bitter and quite dry, with just a hint of some pepper in there. Yum. crossovert (14134) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Citrusy pale ale, nice effervescence, slight smokiness, easy to put down at 5.7%. AmEricanbrew (7080) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 27, 2013
Clear amber color with ivory head. Spicy rye bread, dank hop aromas. Medium body, chewy mouthfeel. Spicy pale rye bread flavors with some dank, earthy hoppage--tasty rye ale.

Pours a clear slightly light amber kinda bronze color and leaves the same color body with a slim half finger white foamy head, just a little amount of light lacing sticks to the sides of the glass; the aroma is slightly hoppy and spicy up front, an underscore of fruitiness and as it warms, I get the coconut (no blueberry though the description from Alaskan Brewing Co says they put it in), no worries, still a very good aroma; the flavoring is slightly peppery, spicy rye follows the bitterness, fruitiness is slightly there but stays subdued throughout, spicy aftertaste, slightly dry finish; the palate - hmmm.... well, its about a light to medium in body and pretty sessionable, carbonation is good for the style (APA) as the sharpness is there for an APA, but not overdoing by any means; overall, good APA that I would definitely come back to, though I’m not sure why Alaskan says there is blueberry in it, no where in the entire beer I got any blueberry in the taste or the smell, no worries, I’d still have this again after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - NOV 20, 2013
Draft at sb. Pours a clear rubied pale amber. Loose white head and thin lace. Light orange notes on the nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Toasty caramel and light peppery rye on the mid palate with a mild sweet orange finish. cwald (91) - Oregon, USA - NOV 8, 2013
HQT night: Growler. This beer smells like a pot cookie. Wow. It’s not terrible, but several HQT judges came up with the same description. Overall a decent beer, with clear amber color. Maybe a little greasy and thick. Decent beer. cbfobes (2888) - Quad Cities, Illinois, USA - OCT 29, 2013
On tap at Alchemy, pours a clear dark amber red with a thin off white head, aroma was of bright and fruity hops right away with just a little bit of the spice and rye, the flavor has a fruity front end with a sweet and spice finish with the rye, really interesting and fruity through out, I enjoyed this one. UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at Town Hall Lanes. Clear golden yellow pour with a nice clingy white head. Nose is mild rye, mild caramel malt, and mild floral hops. Crisp palate but not bitter at all. Subdued, subtle, drinkable, and tasty. Very solid.
