COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience. Alaskan Smoked Porter is produced in limited "vintages" each year and, unlike most beers, may be aged in the bottle, much like fine wine.

Habanero (4773) - Tranbjerg, DENMARK, - JAN 29, 2013
Bottled 2011. Pours black with a medium sized, tan head leaving a fair lacing. Nose of toasted malt, chocolate, coffee and smoke. Sweet flavor that ends up quite dry. Medium bodied, oilt texture and soft CO2. An excellent smoked porter. ★★★★

Bottle at One Pint Pub, Helsinki. 2012 edition. Pours black colour. Moderate dark beige head. Chocolate, caramel, smoke, toffee in the aroma. Smoke at first. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, smoke. Slightly crisp, smoky, bitter, finish with hints of cocoa. Bit smoke and cocoa in the aftertaste. Surprisingly light bodied, tasty porter. However, it has some watery aspects too. Otherwise nice brew. Like the smoky spiceness in the end. To get the full understanding of this beer one need to try newer editions too.

pretty light, not what u expect w these 99% RB porters. It's a great balance, I'd like to see some more thickness in the mf. Smoke is just right, not overbearing but curbing the chocolate a bit. Even a bit of sour at the end. Very drinkable. Nice head.

Rocznik 2013. Bardzo fajnie, wędzoność umiarkowana. Pozatym czekolada, kawa. Naprawdę wzorowy balans. Jakby był mniej wodnisty, to bylby naprawdę pyszny.

Butelka. Piana średnioobfita, beżowa, drobnopęcherzykowa, opada do cienkiej warstwy na powierzchni całego piwa, koronkowanie przeciętne. Barwa brunatna. Aromat średnio intensywny, złożony, czekolada, torf, wędzona surowa polędwica. Goryczka średnia minus. W smaku wszystkie odmiany wędzonki: torf, szynka, ognisko, poza tym lekko kwaśne z palonych słodów i czekolada deserowa. Gładkie w teksturze. Pełnia średnia minus, nasycenie średnie.

Dorównuje własnej legendzie. Pyszny, czekoladowy, delikatnie podbity wędzonością. Świetnie zbalansowany i pijalny. Me gusta !

TEJA (3141) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - AUG 18, 2017
Bottle from Systembolaget. Wintage 2012 sampled 2017. Thick and fluffy light brown head. Mild smoke and dark crystal malt aroma. I remember the smoke more pronounced in younger samples. Distinct roasted maltiness with balanced bitterness. Sweet caramel helps balance the bitterness and the roasted taste but perhaps a litle too much sweetness. Full bodied taste.

650ml bottle. Pours black colour with medium size light brown head. Medium intensity aroma of smoke, chocolate. coffee. Medium sweet, light bitterness, no sourness. Full body, very thick feel, average carbonization, long lasting dark chocolate aftertaste

UPDATED: AUG 8, 2017 2013 Edition. Very dark, but not quite black. Slightly brown head, lasting a while. Smokey, but without the tartness that sometimes accompanies smoke, so well done there. Quite balanced in flavour beyond the smoke, with a light roasted taste in the background.

650ml bottle. (2016 vintage) Pours an opaque black with a large, frothy, long lasting, light brown head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of roasted malt, smoky wood and a hint of chocolate. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, chocolate, licorice and smoked wood with a dry, mildly bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a thin, creamy, sticky texture and soft carbonation. Very nice. The smoked malts were subtle. A world class smoked beer.
