COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The dark, robust body and pronounced smoky flavor of this limited edition beer make it an adventuresome taste experience. Alaskan Smoked Porter is produced in limited "vintages" each year and, unlike most beers, may be aged in the bottle, much like fine wine.

Gentle but assertive smokiness, like a fire burning in the woods. Allows the malt to come through as well, chocolate and roasty. Has a light fruitiness. Smoke fades into bittersweet, not acrid, roasted not burnt, toffee, coffee, cherry, plums, and then returns to linger on your taste buds. Vinous quality peeks into the nose. Flavor a bit like old ale. Slick, yet dry.

Bottle, 0.65l. 2013 vintage. Deep ruby pour, almost black. One finger soapy beige head, low to medium retention, lasting thin layer. Good lacing. Smoked bacon on the nose, not too aggressive. Nice malty backbone. Surprisingly thin body. Calling it medium bodied would be a stretch. Soft carbonation, regular texture. Going down quite smoothly, not so over the top on the smoke here, which is nicd. Smoked bittersweet taste. Aroma of smoked bacon, caramel and toffee. Wood notes. Roasted malts, subtle cocoa. Bitter finish, lingering bitterness throughout the aftertaste. Feels a bit off-placed really, but it's not a big issue. Overall, pretty good brew. Surprisingly easy to drink. Nice one.

Opada ona powoli i ładnie oblepia szkło.

Bottle, 2013, way back when bought at Pivoteka. Almost black reddish body with a small greyish tan head. Malty, strong smoked aroma, bit dusty. Strong pršut really notes. Smoked, wind-dried ham. The lovely pršut-like smokeyness gives way to light roast, enormous really, but the body is medium at best, and there are some light dusty/oxidized notes. Light bitterish touches. Just too lean bodied which is a sad thing as the aromatics are all there. I understand why a lot of people love it but it's not the best smoked I've had so far...

Wow, have not done this in a while. Smoke flavor in the aftertaste. Sweet and pleasantly bitter.

0,65 l bottle, 2013 vintage. Pours almost pitch black with a finger of quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is gentle smoky - a bit of ham, not overpowering, along with plenty cocoa, some chocolate, coffee, dried fruit and roast malt aromas one would expect from a porter. There's also a gentle hop twist to it, earthy and flowery. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Finish is long, aromas and flavors slowly give way to pleasant bitterness. Beer leaves pleasant roast and cocoa flavor in the mouth. Quite complex and rich beer, well balanced and surprisingly very easy drinker for smoked beer.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2017 2012 vintage från systembolaget. Luktar väldigt mycket rök, men ingen behaglig rökdoft. Kändes väldigt snål i smaken.
