Faint aroma of chocolate, roasted malt, and some coffee bean. Ebony black in color, little to no head...tan in color. Sweet roasted malt is the first taste. Has an off flavor of wet cardboard. Flavors of dark chocolate, and coffee also blended in. Mouth feel is slick with mildly bittersweet finish. I will revisit again as I purchased from craft your own six pack section...may have been a bad bottle. Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - JAN 6, 2014
UPDATED: JUN 3, 2014 Pours a noisy black (glub, glub, glub noise) leaves the same color body with a decent one finger white foamy head, light adequate lacing; smell is somewhat roasty yet still the oatmeal is there and kinda comes through in a bland sort of way; the taste is better as there’s some bitter underones to it; slightly roasty; fairly easy on the palate; overall decent oatmeal stout but nothing special Bif (2342) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Pours a dark brown color woth a nice head that faeds quickly leaving only bits of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate with a trace of coffee and bit of grain. Taste of roasted malt, chocolate, chocolate, bit of coffee and caramel. Mild bitterness witha bit of a malty finish. Full body, smooth and creamy. Nicely balanced. Enjoyable beer that goes down easy. maxwelldeux (4433) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - DEC 9, 2013
Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose is roasty with a lot of oatmeal coming off it. Taste is definitely oatmeal-filled, but with a slight bit of sweetness in there. Decent drink. esjaygee (3906) - Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA - NOV 17, 2013

12oz bottle pours a black color with a brown hue with a small tan head that dissapated quickly and leaves light lacing. Smells of roasted malt, dark chocolate and oatmeal. Tastes of the same things in the smell, maybe a little smoke flavor there as well. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with light carbonation. Overall its probably one of my least favorite beers from Alaskan. Not much going on. Correction bottle says 6.2 abv instead of the 5.7 listed. Not going to seek this out again. Nice to try though. Had while on an Alaskan cruise. Probably the worst one I had by the brewery. Not many flavors and the ones there were just weren’t quality. toml219 (284) - California, USA - SEP 25, 2013
Serving type: bottle
Aroma- Dark roasted malt, Coffee smell and some chocolate
Apperance- Black, with a tan head that disappeared all too quickly. Some nice lacing
T/P- Taste of roasted malt and oatmeal with a nice cream like flavor, carbonation is very light which makes for a good smooth taste, does have a slight bitter flavor but it is not bad. Goes down very easy.
Overall- Nice stout, not too strong of a taste. It goes down very easily and it would be easy to down one and start another. Is a bit heavy being a stout and all, but is very nice as an after meal beer.

On tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown with fluffy beige head. Aroma is of bready, toasted malt, brown sugar and dark fruit. Body is medium, creamy and smooth. Taste is of bready, toasted malt, brown sugar, coffee and dark fruit. Finish is long and semi-dry. Not their best brew. Fantomasus (291) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 1, 2013
Pours a deep brown with a small tan head that dissipates into a film. Aroma hit me as soon as I opened the bottle but weakened substantially after the pour. Features: Oatmeal, roasty nuts, hops are very difficult to pin, dough, and light alcohol. Taste is fairly well balanced: sweet, followed by sour, then light salt... bitter. Full body, creamy, average carbonation, with a longer bitter finish. Not my favorite stout but would drink again... Would not BUY again.
