Just when you’ve had enough of winter, we release Alaskan Summer Ale in March. This traditional Kölsch beer is a great way to celebrate warmer weather and more daylight. Its crisp, clean flavor is the perfect complement for crab, halibut, salads and longer days.

Pretty crisp and refreshing while still maintaining a nice malt base. Solid beer but there are other summer beers I prefer.

This beer is perhaps the best rendition of a true Kolsch style beer that I have had so far. Poured into a stange glass with a one finger white head that gives off mildly fruity aroma with hints of hops and perhaps a touch of caramel. The body is a fairly light and somewhat malty with a smooth malty and yet some lingering, but not overpowering hops in the finish. Very drinkable even out of season.

Poured into the glass with a dark yellow color and a short lived head, per the style of kolsch. Malt was cereal like with a hint of caramel followed by a slightly grassy hop touch for balance. A great session beer that goes down easy.

12 oz. bottle from Bev Mo. This one won’t bowl you over but it’s bot bad either. Nice aroma. Taste is toasty with some spices and caramel. The over all feel is moderate and mild, easy drinking for sure. Bitterness distinctively absent. A session brew if there ever was one. I’m ready for another...

"not particularly fond of this beer, or the style, but i did like the hops. other than that it’s completely avoidable as there are just better summer brews out there. ok."

Light amber, not much head. Malty and slightly fruity character. More fruity budweiser taste with malts and high gravity-ish esters. A little heavier than a macro but that’s about it.

Deep yellow almost gold pour with creamy white head. Aroma is corn and perfumy/floral hops. Slight malt on the front with a touch of floral hops. Light bodied with slightly aggressive carbonation. Pretty solid.

Clear gold pour with a thin, creamy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, cereal, over ripe tree fruit, sweet grass and a little doughy yeast. Flavor is sweet and cereal malt up front, toast, apple chips light biscuit, sharp raw yeast and grassy and light floral hops. Light, slightly slick and syrupy feel, medium carbonation. Good stuff overall, not great, the bready yeast notes throw it a bit off though.

Typical of the style, but clean, nice. Malty, grassy aroma. The flavor follows. Sweet. The finish is sweet, light noble hops. Decent overall.

Bottle. Thanks to Terri and Mark for sharing. Pours a blonde amber with a large white head. Aroma of Germanic yeast and multivitamins. Flavor is sweet with no bitterness. Can’t even detect aroma hops. Not fizzy enough for a summer beer. Just boring.
