COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Just when you’ve had enough of winter, we release Alaskan Summer Ale in March. This traditional Kölsch beer is a great way to celebrate warmer weather and more daylight. Its crisp, clean flavor is the perfect complement for crab, halibut, salads and longer days.

Yellowish-orange pout with a small white head. Aroma is definitely lager, but with some citrus fruit. Crisp and clean, a little sweet. Not bad at all for a lager.

Bill Becker (1809) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 24, 2017
From Apr 2007 This one pours from 20z bottle(best by 06 27 07) a clear light gold with a small head of foam. That soon dissipates completely and there's no lacing. The smell is very delicate...I can just detect some sweet malty tones. The taste starts off with a light malty taste, a bit of sweet and a bit of biscuit, but again, they are lightly done but *still* tasty. Further sips in and I get a bit of orange with a slight hop kick that balances the flavours well. It also finishes slightly bitter and leaves a clean aftertaste. Good tasting brew and quite drinkable. Bottom line: It's called Summer Ale for a reason, me thinks and it's a good one to turn to in the hot summer months. I recommend it.

12oz bottle shared by commonshawn and Highendwilly. Copper, light amber in color with a quarter finger white head. Nose is grainy and malty reminding me of Oktoberfest efforts probably a direct result of the German inspiration in a kolsch. Taste follows suit with malty elements running the show. Mild sweetness prevails. Only a slight bitterness towards the end. Might be a little bit old as crispness isn't where it should be. In general, it's a decent low alcohol effort that I'll likely pass on the next time.

Pours a clear gold from the bottle with bubbly white head that leaves light lace. Aroma and taste of bready grain and mild fruity esters. Clean, easy drinking kolsch, good for a summer beer.

Great example of the style! Pours clean with clean white head and good lacing. Slight bready/grassy aroma and good clean finish. Great beer - will have again for sure.

Malty, balanced hops and forgettable, everything you could want from a light summer ale.

Yellow, small white head. Aroma malt, a little fruity. Light body. Crisp mouthfeel. Flavor is light hops, a little fruitiness, reasonably refreshing, unexciting overall.

UPDATED: JUL 30, 2017 Straw yellow pour. This is a really nice twist on the kolsch. Very crisp and refreshing

commonshawn (1326) - Minnesota, USA - JUL 18, 2017
12oz bottle. Gold with medium white head. Pleasant mild aroma. Light and crisp. Pretty refreshing. Good summer twist on a kolsh, not bad at all.

ganache (6057) - New Jersey, USA - JUN 12, 2017
Bottle. Nose grainy, musty (reminds me of certain Euro hops) with subtle and sweet candy overlay. Pour perfectly clear golden leaning to orange, sudsy head. Taste grainy, floral, lightly medicinal, hint of bread but it’s not fresh, thin malt, touch oily. Crisp full body but not fat. Think I’d pass on a second. [2017.06.12: 2.4]
