COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly known As Alaskan Belgian Wit

Brewed with coriander, bitter orange peel and malted wheat, Alaskan White Ale has a light and crisp body pleasant tartness followed by slightly spicy aftertaste. The malted wheat gives the beer a more full and lightly malty mouthfeel. There is an aroma and flavor of wheat and coriander, with a dry and refreshingly carbonated finish.

Sample All Pints North; pours hazy yellow gold with a white head; aroma of wheat and coriander with some citrus hints; taste is a little sweet with wheat and citrus fruits, dry finish with some coriander

Nice aromas of fresh orange, spices, fresh bread and orange rind. Nice hazy deep straw color with a huge white head. Sweet up front, more than your average wit. Sweet orange notes melds in nicely with fresh sweet caramel malt. Bitterness balance is good. Some pepper and earthy tones. Slightly slick mouth feel with nice carbonation. Finish on the earthy bitter side but tame. Nicely made.

Light Golden harvest wheat color with pillowlike head. Aroma/tatse: malted-barley, lemongrass, orange zest and coriander. One of the better wheat beers I’ve had.

Perfect beer for the wind down from a hot Iowa day. Bottles served in an Ayinger Brau Weiss glass. Healthy pure white head persists throughout. Small bubble, plentiful carbonation. Hazy, golden color. Enticing pure malt nose tastes exactly as it smells. More body than some of its kind This beer won’t knock your socks off, which would be untoward anyway, but it is a treat and it does quench your thirst, even without adding the orange grove

I thought this was pretty good, certainly not below average as its rating would suggest. Lightly spicy and sweet, it’s a witbier tastes like a witbier. No off flavors or bad aftertaste to speak of

On tap at the marathon. Pours orangeish with white head. Flavors of a typical wheat but more subdued. Decent beer.

So I’m sure setting has a lot to do with this rating. Bottle on the stern of the Celebrity Millennium overlooking Juneau and the setting sun. Nose moderate coriander, clove, spice and light wheat. Taste similar to nose, spices and late mid palate sweet. Some grainy malt late.

A child is crying because we are not making cleaning fun. So I am on my 2nd beer.

The first time I tried this was at a bar in Skagway, Alaska. Wanted a bit of the hometown vibe. At the time I thought it was pretty decent, had a second one. Now I find it a bit soft. Purchased with five other beers in a mixer at the supermarket. It looks pretty grand. The color is a pleasant medium gold with a slender white head that does yield a steady stream of carbonation. The scent is grain. Its taste is a very light shot at a Belgian-type brew, a small spiciness and a hint of bitterness. Again the grain or wheat overtone and a slimmer of tropical fruit. Oh well. My tastes have just gone a different direction.
