Growler 1l. Thx Huxxy. Pours dark brown with very low to no beige head. Aroma is of chocolate, roasted malt, some coffee/cream/sugar. Taste is of chocolate, roasted malt, bitterness, toasted grain, coffee. Palate: Full bodied, very light carb. Overall: Nice malt features. Too bad its flat.

Growler (1L) shared by JulienHuxley with minderbinder and me. Growler was only a few days old. Deep mahogany with a small ring of off-white foam. Aroma is of roasted malts, vanilla, caramel candy and brown sugar, chocolate and mineral notes. Taste is also roasted malts forward, less sweet than the aroma made me think it would be, bitter chocolate, mineral notes, brown sugar and caramel. Medium body. Very soft carbonation, almost flat. Caramel-ish and chocolatey finish. Good Porter. Unfortunately, it seems that l’Albion still doesn’t master the art of growler as they do with casks so this one felt to be in "poor" condition despite bing only 2-3 days old .Still, it was quite flavorful and I’m sure it’s delicious on premise.

Growler shared. Brown black pour with little to no head. Aroma is sweet, brown sugar, tons of chocolate, milk chocolate. Taste is bitter, lots of cocoa, nice roastiness, bitter chocolate. Palate is flat, a tad watery, med body. Good.

(Rating #5365)

My Bottom Line :
Pumpernickel bread, light berries and subtle roast are whipped into a creamy body for a smooth Porter experience.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam laces around the cloudy dark brown.
-Licorice sweetness and fruitiness is evoked in the flavor profile.
-Hops are but a whisper in the flavor profile, yet succeed in making the brew not feel too sweet.
-Wooden angles add depth.

On tap at the brewpub.
