Pours a brownish color with a khaki head. Sweet malt, toffee, bread, and toast. A light nuttiness, some hints of chocolate, and a fair amount of toast. Hints of dark fruit in the background. Some cocoa powder, toast, bread, and toffee sweetness to open up on the palate. Just a light nuttiness, a touch of dark fruit, some yeast, and a light cola character. A little astringent on the finish. JohnC (3008) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - AUG 5, 2012
I had this on tap at Alcatraz Brewing. This brown lager pour starts out roasty, kind of like a mildly flavored brown ale, and finishes with a slightly sweet taste.
