Draft at Pub (Not the Cask version) - Described as very complex and this holds true. Pours a quite dark brownish amber with a whitish head that stayed around. Sourish yeast aroma with some maltiness and faint orange peel. Flavor is clasic Belgian yeast with a quite strong maltiness and some alcohol apparent. Finish is of malty Belgian yeast and some fruity aftertones. Really good... my favorite of the session. muzzlehatch (4959) - Beloit, Wisconsin, USA - APR 7, 2005
Draft and cask at the brewpub. Dark yeasty caramel, small but lasting very creamy off-white head (almost no head on cask version)...anise, nutmeg and sour yeastiness in the nose, bitter orangepeel arises late...fruity, thick malty body with light alcohol warmth throughout, sour cherries and orange marmalade sugariness spar towards the end, only to both be overcome by old sherry. Quite lovely.
