120 IBU bomb and it's canned. Can't really see the appearance since I'm told to drink from the can but I bet it's beautiful. So smooth upfront with huge bitter notes in the back. Would love to see this in Ohio someday. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Solid as usual great beer, hazy, great nose, love the can, brewery was cool, a bit boozy so to have anymore than 2 not an option unless your settled in. Lol

Traded a Founders KBS with Josh L to get this beer. Drank 3/4 from glass and 1/4 from can. It pours a cloudy yellow - not the most attractive of appearances, to be honest. The aroma is awesome - floral, citrus, tropical fruits. The taste is very good, but maybe I was expecting too much. It has some upfront citrus - but more on orange/tangerine than grapefruit - and quickly goes to hops, where a subtle bitterness (maybe smooth is a better word) presents itself and just lingers for a while. There is no hoppy bite - just a long finish. Overall - this is good stuff, if somewhat short of (maybe unrealistic) high expectations. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2018 16 oz can at home from brewery - pours cloudy golden with a fluffy white head - smells of citrus fruit and hop - very well balanced citrus and hop in the mouth - medium hop bitterness in the palette

Thanks to my bro-in-law, I have a 16 oz can to sample. Poured into a Beer'd pint glass from Stonnington (keeping the New England connection). Great, earthy pine hops nose. Thick white head with soapy lacing. Unfiltered and golden. Sediment is present, too. Incredibly smooth for a double. Exceptional balance of citrus and earthy pine resine punch. Great brew! Cheers!

(Can) Aroma: pineapple, citrus fruits. Appearance: yellow hazy color, medium-sized head. Taste: semi sweet, flavour of pineapple, citrus fruits and mango. Palate: mediums to full body, medium carbonation. Overall: Great one, super drinkability.

Aroma: hop extract, mosaic-hop is detectable, some citrus, grapefruit, some herbal notes, some delicate onion and musty notes (mosaic). Taste: a bit juicy and then herbal and bitter finish (mix of hops and some alc. imo). Head is nice, carbonation at quite high level, color is pale yellow, medium hazy.

Big pine hop bomb that finishes dry. The Topper was my first dive into the world of IPAs. Went with friends years ago to brewery and didn't think much of it. Now as an avid beer drinker I realize the greatness of this beer. It stands up as my favorite every time I drink it.

Doft: ananas, torr, skog, torv som nästan drar åt ett rökigt håll, passionsfrukt, tall. Smak: gula frukter, besk, torr, söt, tall, tallkåda, välbalanserad! Sötman och beskan balanserar varandra väl!

(473ml can from Mikkeller Webshop) Pours a pretty hazy pale orange with an average white head and spotty lace. Aroma is concentrated and a mix of pungent fruit and dankness, notes of preserved peaches, apricots, passionfruit, papaya, berry candy, citrus, some slightly sknuky weed, fresh grass. Flavour is again heavy with hop oil character, concentrated notes of pit fruit, white grapefruit, papaya/melon, floral tropical passionfruit vibe, biscuit malt gives a bit of sweetness, rather dank leafy notes with some catty character, some pine needle, citrus zest and pith, above moderate bitterness but not totally scalding. Medium bodied, a bit oily, fairly soft carbonation, no alcohol. Somewhere between a more bitter west coast and contemporary NE style, and obviously an influence on both. Not head and shoulders above other DIPAs now, but really good all the same.

Cloudy, pale. Medium head. Fruity, with a bit of papaya and a bit of grapefruit. On the palate, it’s spicy, has a nice grapefruit, good balance with the pale malt. Touch of alcohol late. It’s good, I'm sure I would have scored it higher back in the day, but when you're this late to the party and you've had so many high quality imitators, it is what it is.
