0.473 l can from a trade with Maracuja05, many thanks Moritz! Almost clear, orangeish amber with a medium large, a bit fluffy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, fruity-grassy, slightly resiny and a bit herbal aroma of mango, passion fruit, some orange jam, pine and hints of marijuana. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, juicy, fruity-grassy, moderately resiny and slightly herbal taste of mango, passion fruit, orange jam, pine and a touch of marijuana, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather herbal-grassy and quite resiny finish. Medium to full body, smooth, almost creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Extremely pleasant beer that impresses with its balance rather than its intensity. I like it a lot but for me it doesn't completely live up to its reputation, but that might be a result of my high expectations. snowcrash000 (157) - Cologne, GERMANY - FEB 21, 2018
Pours a slightly hazy, bright orange coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smell is very hoppy, with quite sweet, juicy and slightly zesty notes of citrus and tropical fruit: grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, papaya, peach; with the merest hint of a certain, dank grassyness and pine. Taste follows the nose, being incredibly hoppy with almost no detectable malt presence at all, just the slightest hint of biscuity malt. Quite sweet, juicy and slightly dank notes of citrus and tropical fruits: grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, papaya, peach that are greatly balanced. I'm not really getting a very resinous character from this, but there is just a hint of pine coming through as well. Finishes quite bittersweet, with a pretty light bitterness. The Mouthfeel is incredible here, very smooth soft and effervescent, Medium Body and carbonation. So this is the fabled Heady Topper. I can totally see why it's been labeled as the original NEIPA and honestly don't get the controversy that some people like to put on it. This is very sweet and juicy and neither as resinous nor bitter as some people claim. Also, I was quite surprised to not find a single floater in my glass after pouring this into it. 473 ml can at home. Pours a hazy orange-golden with some lager floating particles and a white head. The aroma is medium hoppy with grapefruit, stone fruits, pine, grapes, perfume and grass and some biscuity malt in the back. Medium to medium-full body with a soft carbonation, a light sweetness and a medium to medium-heavy bitterness. Rather bitter but balanced by a sufficiently dense malt body. The flavor is again medium hoppy, very fruity with lots of peach, mango, orange, grapefruit followed by resinous and piney notes. Finishes with a crisp and lasting hoppy bitterness. Despite the distinct bitterness exceptionally well balanced by the fruits hop flavors and a well-dosed malt body. Features many layers and a good depth of flavors.

In a world full of fantastic IPA’s, this offering from the obsessive brewers at The Alchemist stands out above most. Gorgeous, hazy golden color (should be drunk from can, though). The mouth feel is second to none - soft, with a delicate effervescence. The hops are fresher than anything I’ve ever tasted. Delicious beer; a must for IPA enthusiasts. Note: Notoriously difficult to find - distributed primarily locally around the brewery in the Green Mountain state. I understand there is a mail order service available, though. 08-02-18 and 10-02-18 // cans shared. Purchased at Mikkeller Webshop. Compared drinking both times with part in a glass and parts straight from the can. Can gives a more hop oily feeling and and more aggressiv hop flavour and bitterness while the glass provides just a perfectly balance DIPA. I loved it both ways. --- Hazy orange. Small head. Fruity hoppy nose. Aroma of loads of grassy, hay hops with citrus and fruit notes. Hop oily, slightly hop creamy mouthfeel. Strong bitterness which stays in the mouth for a long time. Such a great IPA. Definitely stands up to the hype and I could drink it every day. Smoother than the 8%. mliga (75) - POLAND - FEB 11, 2018
Zdecydowanie lepsze niż focal. Aromat lekko cytrusowy, cut białych owoców i cebula. Dość jasne, zamglone. Zaskakuje wysokie wysycenie, konkret goryczka, zero karmelu, alkoholu nie czuć wcale. Ogólnie fajna IPA, ale zdecydowanie piłem lepsze i tańsze ;) andyf163 (15) - - FEB 10, 2018
UPDATED: FEB 10, 2018 1 pint can purchased from Mikkeller’s online shop. Great looking can. Tropical smell as soon as the cam opens. Drunk from can as per the instructions but sneaked a little into a glass. Bright gold colour but less hazy than I thought it would be. Taste wise you get tropical flavours with lots of hops! Great beer
