Draft @ the brewpub. Black pour tan head. Huge vanilla aroma, chocolate, and sweet malt tones. Definitely a hidden gem, reminiscent of ballast point victory at sea but better. Huge vanilla flavor on top of a well done porter. Hard to believe the base beer was the same. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 25, 2011
In short: A roasted stout with a strong and unusual lactic character. Great original creation.Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 14, 2011
How: Tap at brewpub
The look: Black body topped by a small tan head
In long: Nose of milk chocolate, some burnt toasts and light notes of vanilla. Taste had a surprising flavor element. Carnation™ milk!!! I’ve never said the about a beer but there you go. Condensed canned Carnation™ milk. Sounds gross? It is not. Actually it was delicious with the chocolate flavor, vanilla, roast, burnt toasts. Dry roasted finish. I’ve never had a beer like this. Strange, really original and truly excellent. Since this beer is not sold in a can I will go on and say that this beer is uncanny. This is my way to say that this beer is weird and that I don’t really know what uncanny really means.
Draft. Pours a rich black body with a tan coffee head. Aromatically sweet with hints of coco and vanilla beans. Light sweetness with a silky vanilla body and a smooth coffee and lactose sweetness. Reminds me a lot of DDC Aphrodite. Very nice. Fred82 (2324) - Québec City, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 18, 2011

Appearance : Deep black. Light lacing.
Aroma : Huge chocolate notes with light coffee and a surprising impression of milk (most likely coming from the vanilla beans and lactose).
Taste : Light coffee with big chocolate and light hops. Finish has a moderate bitterness and lots of chocolate. Soft and silky carbonation.
Overall : Wow this is something else. This is the closest beer to a milk chocolate that I’ve ever had. Really surprising and impressive. It seem that the vanilla beans gives a milk-like feel along with the perfect soft and creamy carbonation which makes the experience complete. Very nice chocolate. Enjoyable sweetness. Very drinkable. Next time I go to The Alchemist and this is on tap, I NEED to try it again.
UPDATED: JAN 1, 2013 On tap at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown with opaque edges and gray head that dissipated quickly to the edges. Aroma was a complex combination of roasted malts, sweet chocolate, vanilla and a hint of backing coffee. Flavor began with roasted malts and was joined by sweet chocolate and vanilla with the vanilla coming on quite strong in the finish. Beer went down really smooth.
