Pours a cloudy light golden with a fully receding white head. Aroma is biscuit, bready yeast with flowery hops. This is intriguing... Taste starts mildly sweet with pleasant bitterness. This beer has enjoyable qualities that are hard to describe. Light bodied with medium carbonation. My favorite pale lager thus far. Perhaps in Latvia the best selling beer also tastes good. What a novel concept. HogTownHarry (7071) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - AUG 23, 2005
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2005 Bottle (500ml). Poured clear gold with a decent sized soapy white head. Very vegetal-grainy, but not too sour, not to corny - it’s even a bit perfumy and there is a grassy hop aroma too. Taste is a bit lemony, sweet but not malty, and fresh-cut clover. Light but okay. Not much going on palate-wise. Incredibly quick finish and no aftertaste. Easy to drink, not offensive - beats many generic euro/pale lagers. UPDATED: SEP 30, 2011 Bottle. Hazed yellow. Small foamy and bubbly white head. Nose is slightly malted with light citrus, dried hops, light grassiness, and light graininess. Taste has some light grains, some thinned melon-like flavors, light citrus, sweet malts and mild grassy notes. Body is light and contains minimal carbonation feel. Finishes with more fruit notes, sweet malts, grains, and almost a hint of alcohol. Not too bad. dm9831 (1512) - Monee, Illinois, USA - JUL 4, 2005
RE-RATEBottle - 500mL pull-top. Gold bodied with a tall, fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet malt, grains, light grass and corn syrup. Taste is also sweet malt with grassy hops, grains, cereal notes and corn syrup. Light buttered toast with honey as well. Body is light-medium with a bubbly carbonation. Ends with more sweet malt notes, corn syrup, grains, cereal, and light grass.
had sort of a flowery aroma, but a nice golden color with a big, white, long-lasting head. i detected a citric taste, but mostly tasted grain, with a slightly sweet aftertaste. not a favorite of mine, but not bad either. refreshing on a hot day. tiggmtl (4543) - East York, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 25, 2005
UPDATED: JUN 26, 2005 Mildly husky, grainy malt and grassy, herbal hops in the nose. Clear brilliant gold with huge and lasting white head that leaves some lace. Sweet grainy flavour with a lemon-citrus character and fair finishing bitterness. Some mild vegetal and perfumey, soap-like floral notes emerge as it warms. Light, refreshing body with strong carbonation that attacks the tongue. Bottle (LCBO, May-05).

(11.2oz bottle) Big white head atop hazy straw body. Aroma is medium sweet, bread, some caramel, light hay. Taste is medium sweet and quite bland. Think sugar water with a hint of malt. No bitterness. Smooth light body with some crispness, a bit undercarbonated. Easily passes the inoffensiveness test. Dixen (1465) - Flagstaff, Arizona, USA - MAY 29, 2005

Canned. Golden colour, minor head. Malty aroma with hints of alcohol. Flavour is sweet malty with hoppy finish. Some fruitish hints also there. Boring. 3 2 3 2 5
Not bad for Latvia, I suppose. Sure beats the crap outta any American swill. Pours very yellow and slightly cloudy; drinks nice and crisp with just a light hint of hops in the finish. Refreshing lil’ brew. BeerAteHer (384) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - FEB 17, 2005
Cheap, corn sweetener aroma and flavor. Not a drain pour but had to wolf it down. Look at the bright side: it would beat any mass-produced Amerikansk malt liquor!
