Snegurochka (395) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2012
330ml from [email protected] Arsenals, Riga. (22.Dec.2012) Light yellow body with filmy layer on top. Mild hops and malt aroma, flowers and cookies, maybee some citrus notes? Most of all sweet. The taste of artificial acidic lemon overwhelms me. Too carbonated. Reminds most of all of a (bad) Russian lager, but then again there are many Russians living in Latvia...

Smells malty. Some skunkiness. Pours pale watery without much head. A little grain in the taste. Alright for what it is.

Bottle (Eastern European Foods, Glasgow):
A weird, skunky aroma coupled with some sweet butter, corn and bread as well as some cheap lager hops and malts.
Light, slightly amber straw colour with a small white head on the top. Very much a cheap pale lager in appearance.
Sweet malts kick things off along with some butter and vanilla, neither what I was expecting from this to begin with. There is a slight spicy tanf and a lot of corn to round things off with.
Quite light with a slightly spicy palate and medium carbonation levels. It is also quite plain and unexciting with a hint of alcohol right at the end and some grain too.

A poor, cheap pale lager and not as good as I recall from my time in Latvia a few years ago although that could be down to my palate changing quite a bit since then.
