6oz sample. This is a solid ipa with an herbal earthy kick which screams west coast that has a caramel malt backdrop with some bread in the aroma. Could use a bit more citrus to srand out but is a stellar textbook example of the style.

Pours a caramel looking color, cloudy, with a trace of head and light lacing on the edge. Aroma was hoppy but not overpowering.
Taste was hoppy, but missing something. Mouthfeel was OK. Just an average IPA for me! thirdeye11 (6162) - Dallas, Texas, USA - SEP 11, 2011
(12oz bottle thanks to bu11zeye) rich opaque orange with a lasting creamy head. Nose of sweet orange, and the peel, grapefruit. Taste of orange pulp, candied fruits, a bit of cracker and a bit dank. JoePeesie (925) - Long Lake, Illinois, USA - SEP 6, 2011
A decent IPA, a bit simple in the taste and nose profile. For the price its not a bad 6 pack to grab, but I wouldn’t go far out of my way to try it. Keil (171) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 23, 2011
Pours a cloudy amber. Aroma is malt and sweet. Mouthfeel is pretty syrupy. Taste is bitter in the end with a strong malt presence. Not too hoppy in the finish. Overall just decent. Drinkable, but nothing exceptional in my opinion.

Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. Clear and copper colored with a small off white head. A very nice aroma is citrus and caramel. Flavor is also citrus and they are fairly complex. Malt is bready and sweet. Very nice. bigtaster (1002) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 5, 2011
Pint at pub, nice hay-Orange color with off white head, fruit citrus aroma, a bit of spice. Initial sweet bite, grapefruit, resin finish. Surprisingly delicious. bu11zeye (13029) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - APR 9, 2011
(12oz bottle) Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with medium cream head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, bread, orange, and grass. Flavor of grass, florals, earth, bread, citrus, and caramel malt with a dry, bitter finish. blutt59 (6573) - Dallas, Texas, USA - MAR 26, 2011
bottle, orange color with a plasitc creamy vanilla aroma, flavors of chocolate, caramel, almond and vanilla crossovert (13409) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAR 4, 2011
12 oz bottle with no date.
Pours a dark brown cider color with a nice foamy off-white head that leaves a ton of lacing.
For a standard American IPA this one smells above average. It smells very sweet but like hop candy. The hops have an acidic, grassy, raw tone to them.
I like my IPAs hoppier than this but it is a decent beer taste-wsie.
Their hop selection is good, but it needs more of it. And Amarillo isn’t particularity the best of the hop varieties, it would be nice if thy accented it. The malts kinda fall short here, they are up front in the taste but aren’t complementary to the hops.
The mouthfeel is a bit thin on carbonation, too little carbonation for the style, though the drinkability is higher.
Overall it is a middle of the road ipa with a good scent to it.
