Pours chestnut brown with aroma of nuts, caramel, and chocolate. Nutty flavor with some toffee sweetness and chocolate. A bit underdeveloped, but nice nonetheless. zoucrew102 (2240) - - NOV 15, 2015
Bottle, thanks George999! Rich, nutty aroma with sweet caramel notes. Pours dark caramel brown with a thin tan head with poor retention and some lacing. Starts with rich nutty flavors with a bit toffee. Finishes smooth with excellent caramel sweetness permeating the other flavors nicely. Excellent brown ale! 12oz bottle, thanks to shrubber85/phaleslu. Dated 12/10/2015. Red / brown color, with lots of yeasty chunks in the body. Thin off-white head. Fades to a minimal ring. Dark fruit up front. Caramel malt, very mild nuttiness. Touch of papery oxidization. Touch of chocolate. Moderate bitter taste, lighter to moderate sweet. Bit of a bite to it. Just a touch of tart. Mild drying finish. Medium-plus body. Lighter carbonation. Hint of coffee comes out later. Seems a little rough and off though. Didn’t finish. Patrickctenchi (6809) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - SEP 9, 2015
Pours slightly hazed mahogany with a creamy, light tan head.
Caramel, chocolate, bark aroma.
Creamy, nut and chocolate malt flavor.
Roasty, a little oily, maybe some cola notes.
Smooth, simple, straightforward......
Really pleasant and rich....nice. shrubber85 (11706) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - AUG 28, 2015
Bottle. Nutty chocolate malt and herbal hay aroma. Medium brown with moderate tan head. Mildly sweet nutty chocolate malt and mildly bitter herbal quinine/hay flavor. Okay but a bit harsh.

12 oz bottle pours brown with a white head. Aroma of malts, nutty and earthy. Taste is nutty and malty. vikingguy (1106) - Carver, Minnesota, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Reddish brown with pillowy head. Dark fruits on the nose. Taste- toasty malt, honey, nutty and caramel. Mellow and lightly hopped. Not bad but this serves to remind me why I don't drink brown ales much anymore. Just kind of boring but again, a decent decent brown ale if you're in to them.

Pours dark brown with a finger of foamy, tan head. Nose is bready with slight fruity notes and a hint of caramel. Taste is slightly bitter on a malty-sweet backbone. Medium body. Lively carbonation. Good stuff.

I thought this was a little hoppy for the style. Still an easy drinker though
