It pours slightly dark for th style, it is an orangeish/reddish/copperish brown with golden highlights. The head is large and off-white, it is frothy and takes a while to recede leaving some decent lacing.
The smell is caramally, boozy, and pretty hoppy as well. It has a bit of citrus and pine in there that smells candied with the sweetness this beer carries in the smell.
The taste is a bit weak for a dipa. It has lots of grain and malt flavors, a hit of caramel and some smooth nicely flavored hops that don’t provide much bitterness over the top of all that. My main qualm is that it is a bit watery.
It is merely okay, one of the lesser DIPAs in Wisconsin. Very drinkable though, if you want a summer DIPA that you can just suck down on a hot day this would work.

12floz bottle (BOD 07.19.2016) bought as part of a mix-six, per unit price $1.50. Poured into a standard nonic glass, opaque amber color with a one finger sustaining cream colored head. Nose is rather ordinary, consisting ofl hop pellet dust and hard candy. A hollow full-bodied beer that presents some balance between hop bitterness and malt sweetness. More of the melon variety IPA, and I’ll leave it at that as to get any further detailed would mean to get more general descriptive. Keg @ Ale Asylum. 08/14/16. Deep amber pour with a small head. Nose suggests caramelized grain. Stone fruit salad. Some plum. Flavor is big and sweet. High ibus offsetting. Lots of pine. Some onion. I for one have done plenty of jacksin in my life, but little of it has come close to offering the tropical, sticky pleasures provided by this Ale Asylum offering. Ruby red appearance. There seems to be all manner of Northwestern American aggression in here. Garlic and onion, sharp citrus, fruit pith, dank herbs, and pine. Yet, beneath all the spice and bitterness, Satisfaction Jacksin has a sweet side. Tropical fruit and even some flashes of honey and caramel. That 8.25% ABV is handily concealed, though. Tap at Riverhouse. Hazy caramel with decent head. Am I getting cigarette ash or is that the guy next to me? Also a light pepperiness and some earthy woods. 12 ounce bottle from Steve’s on University Avenue, Madison, sampled a little below cellar temperature from a Unibroue glass. Fluffy off-white head tops a faintly cloudy, dark amber-copper body, decaying without undue haste and settling eventually into a light ring...nose very expressive when first poured, with mango and a bit of citrus and lots of resinous notes, but it weakens considerably in just a few minutes...body is very juicy, fairly sweet to begin with but strongly bitter even initially, with that bitterness growing quite intense towards the finish...there’s also a fair amount of acidity and a light yeasty-doughy quality, with the end notes being more dry rye bread in nature...very full throughout, with moderately strong carbonation; alcohol slightly noticeable but not in an objectionable way. Ultimately this is a little too dry and a little too full of a particular kind of woody, earthy character for me; just a slight tweaking to allow a little more sugar to balance out those rustic notes would have made for something special, but those who prefer their strong IPAs almost entirely focused on the bitter and hard elements will probably disagree. I still liked it a fair amount but IMO it doesn’t compare with the better similar products from other locally available brewers like O’so, Tyranena, Toppling Goliath or Three Floyds.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear deep amber with a red hue and a tan head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has a strong resin note with pine, a hint of onion and a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has lots of sweet grains with growing resinous pine and a hint of onion. Troupis (251) - - SEP 2, 2016
Strong! Tar hints galore. End of a long evening of beer so probably better than I'm giving credit. Just a bit strong right now. Feels craft made which I appreciate.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. Big citrus aroma, murky golden brown color small white head. The aroma is hops with some pine and citrus tossed in. The taste matches the aroma and is very good
