On tap at Beer Revolution. Pours near black with a thin tan head and no detectable aroma. There is a hearty chocolate and treacle flavor with a dry finish. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - JAN 31, 2013
Sampled at the Bistro 7th Annual Barrel Aged Festival on 11/10/2012. This brown ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with some wood and a touch of red wine. A medium bodied brown ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and herbal. Decent carbonation. Complex flavors, there is a whole lot ‘evolving’ here, some wood, some red wine (zinfandel) and a touch of tartness. Interesting… Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Draft. Brown beer with a dark tan head. Cocoa aroma. Cocoa and grapefruit flavor with light pine and light barrel characteristics. Medium bodied. Cocoa and light grapefruit linger with light pine and light barrel. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - DEC 2, 2012
On tap at City Beer. It pours a surprising golden orange with an orangy head. Weird since the first generation of this beer was very dark. Must have been a lighter beer added this time... anyway the aroma is floral with some dried apricot and oak. The flavor is dense rye with some dried fruit with an oaky, rather bitter finish. Pretty nice. bhensonb (15251) - Woodland, California, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Draft at the Bistro West Coast Barrel Aged Beer Festival. Pours ruddy amber with beige bubbles. Aroma is quite citrus. Light malt. and some berry for flavor. Light, but astringent, wood. It’s very flavorful.
