On tap @ Ale Industries. Deep dark brown pour with a khaki head. Smells smokey alright. It’s not totally overbearing, but it’s more than I care for. Some roasted nuts, caramel, toast, and toffee. Slight chocolate as well. The flavor is decently balanced in terms of the smoke and other components. Lots of roasted malts and nuts. Smoked, salty almonds, some cocoa powder, toffee, and toasted grains/bread. Not my thing but not a bad beer. monk191 (2023) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 6, 2014
A very nice rauchbier. Pours a deep brown with a thick white head. Smells very smoky, like bacon. Some sweetness as well, and just a hint of pumpkin. Taste is similar, very smoky in the start, and once it opens up, a nice bit of pumpkin and spice. Had in the bottle at the taproom. paiste2002 (186) - Saugus, California, USA - FEB 6, 2014
22 oz. Bomber from Michael’s, thanks Andy! Pours dark brown with a smallish tan head that settles to a very thin tan layer and a smallish tan ring around the top of the beer leaving some very nice lace around the glass. Aroma is smoked pumpkin and spice. Medium body, medium carbonation makes for a very easy drinking beer. Flavor is smoked pumpkin, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice. This one finishes an incredible smokey, pumpkiny, spicy flavor bomb with a very nice lingering Smokey goodness. I really enjoy smoked beers and I love Pumpkin beers as well so this one for me at least is a wonderful Pumpkin Rauch beer not to be missed.

The roasted pumpkin flavor comes through with the taste of nutmeg. The alcohol is noticeable on the finish.

Bomber from the Folsom Whole Foods. Pours brown with a slight beige head. Moderate smoke aroma over some nutty chocolate malt. Med body or better. It does taste smokey. Far from Brew Dog, but very firmly smoky. There’s some chocolate underpinnings, but a smoky malty beer is this. Finishes smoky and not quite dry - but dry enough. jethrodium (366) - Berkeley, California, USA - JAN 2, 2013
On tap. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head that settles to a ring and leaves some light lacing on the glass. Aroma is smoky with pumpkin and spice. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste has an initial sweetness with smoky pumpkin and a bit of cinnamon and nutmeg as well as some caramel. The finish has more smokiness and some pumpkin with a lingering smokiness. Medium body. Medium carbonation. A tad sweeter than I would like, but still one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve had.

On tap. Dark brown with a creamy white head. Big roasted grain, pumpkin, smoke, and spice aroma. Medium bodied palate. Tastes of bacon, smoke, pumpkin, roasted grain, clove, and light chocolate. Well done. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - NOV 10, 2012
On draft at Livermore Saloon. It pours brown with a khaki head. The aroma is nicely smoky with some roasted malt, carmel, cinnamon and nutmeg. Good combo. The flavor is very smoky with some pumpkin flavor coming through with noticeable, but subdued cinnamon and nutmeg. The smoked malt works really well with the spices. A testament to the skill of the brewer. Medium bodied. A really good pumpkin beer. The guys at Ale Industries have been KILLING it lately!
