COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer Orange Kush is being moved in a different direction. As our little brewery grows, so does our reach. With our beer now available from Oregon down to San Diego and over to Arizona, having the word Kush censored on our label, just isnt doing it for us anymore. Like the game of telephone, with more and more distance between us and our customers, the story behind the beer loses its meaning. Beginning this December you will start seeing a new label out on the market, we are now calling Orange Kush - Golden State of Mind. We are very excited to show off our Golden State of California with this new label, and have begun to use, as much as possible, California grown ingredients.
Golden State of Mind is a California Native Ale brewed with loaclly grown Barley, Oats, and Wheat. Local and Organic chamomile, orange peel, and coriander and added to the finish, which gives this beer an amazingly simple refreshment.

Bottle shared by Nate at the Hanshin Seed Event. A slightly cloudy golden pour, mild white head. A great floral, hill of wild flowers aroma with the chamomile fairly dominant. The body is smooth & med-light, coriander, vanilla, lemon, chamomile & witbier yeast flavors. Nice stuff. Very nice though I suspect itd get to be too much in large doses.

Tap. Cloudy golden amber, almost no head, no lacing. Aroma is honey, herbal, floral, hay, pepper, sage. Tons of chamomile. Flavor is light plus sweet, herbal, honey, sage. Medium body, flat carbonation.

Pale golden color with lots if chamomile, honey and citrus in the nose. Floating hanging around make it a bit strange. The mouth is light. With honey orange and flowers. Refreshing. Simple yet enjoyable.

22oz. bottle at a recent bottle share reviewed from notes. As Uncle Jesse, the aroma is vegetal and herbal, but I guess I should expect that from a chamomile beer. There is a light citrus aroma that goes along with the herbal character. The malt presence is a little sweet, but it rounds it out a bit. Pours cloudy pale yellow with small head that sits on top of the beer. Taste is soapy with more of the cooked vegetal taste. Light honey and orange character with big astringency. Body is medium with low carbonation. Eh, either both the bottles from Ale Industries were old, or something is just really off about their beers.

From bottle to pint glass. Spice, coriander, yeast, wheat and orange mix seductively. Slightly hazy pale orange with a white head that remains covering the top. Spice, wheat and slight chamomile. Medium mouthfeel. Some nice residual sweetness.

Bottle. A small white head tops a orange-gold body. A little light lacing. Nose is coriander and chamomile, floral, yeast, and grain. Mildly sweet and a touch bitter. Flavor of sweetened chamomile tea, oats, coriander and light orange. Light body and a bit thin. Too much coriander and chamomile.

Bit of a strange smell, possibly the chamomile. Slightly clouded yellow colour with frothy head. Very fizzy beer. Can taste the chamomile, coriander, oats and orange peel. Different tasting, but refreshing beer. (K)

Tasty beer. Low alcohol. Like a spicy cream ale. Nelson hops. Refreshing. White pepper. Interesting.

So this is one of those beers that doesnt really fit into the category it is classified as. But who cares about that, how does it taste?!?! Pretty damned good and refreshing is my answer. I applaud any beer that uses oats, but I also think the chamomile adds another element that when tasting, you dont think Belgian Wit style, but you think...aaahhhh!!! Refreshing!
