Very dark purple. Nose is lactic acid And cherries. Taste is very sweet. Dry finish and lots of fruit. Lovely tartness and very drinkable. joeneugs (6371) - Livermore, California, USA - SEP 19, 2012
On draft at the brewery. It pours a cloudy orange with a small off white head. The aroma has some sweet marachino cherries with strong vinegar and light notes of acetone. Not great. The flavor is a bit throat burning wiht red wine vinegar, littel acetone and berry fruit. Very harsh with overwhelming acetic acid and not something I would want to try again. I hear they have a new barrel manager that’s kicking some butt, so I’m hopeful this will yeild some better results in the sour ale category for them. I love all their other beers though!
