Bottle:   Fireweed honey in color, very fiery, moderate frothy off-white head, decent lacing.   Wow, big coffee aroma, freshly ground.   Seriously, I dont get any IPA out of the aroma, just fresh ground coffee.
Very soft IPA aspects on the tongue.   Coffee still brings up the rear at this point, but not heavy.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with a very moderate IPA, slightly hoppy, but again the background is fresh
ground coffee.   This is an odd duck, but it somehow works.   The coffee on the nose doesn’t come across as that strong on the tongue.   The IPA aspect could be stronger, but as is its not overshadowed by the coffee.

22 oz bottle poured a vivid orange into a pint glass. Decent sized head that faded at a moderate pace and left light, spidery lacing. Pretty big roast coffee aroma with some earthy hop notes and the lightest hint of citrus. The coffee is also definitely the biggest note on the flavor profile, with some grapefruit and a nice bit of lemon rind and some definite caramel sweetness. 3/28/13. Sampled during CBC 2013, at Churchkey, I believe. Orange pour with a small khaki head that sticks. Citrus and coffee on the aroma, a nice balance of hop and coffee. Lightly bitter flavor, hoppy with just enough coffee. I really enjoyed this.

On tap at Malt and Vine, Tasting notes from 3/21/13 poured into 4 oz. Snifter sample glass pours a light orange color with a light tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of coffee, citrus, and pine. Tastes of coffee and citrus with a slight hop bite in the back end. Mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with great carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall I think this was a great tasting and unique brew. I thought the coffee flavor overpowered the ipa elements slightly though. Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Having been pleasantly surprised by my first coffee IPA (the Mikkeller), I was hoping for good things here. Fairly lively copper pour with a fluffy head. Nose is leafy one moment, bright the next, with the coffee pretty muted at first. Flavors are richer and fuller, with moderate chocolate and wood framing the slightly more assertive coffee flavors. Drank at jimmy buffet at va beach. Clear golden pour with fair offwhite head. Smells and tastes much better than I expected. Coffee aroma and flavor are prevalent, but noy overpoweribg for yhe base sryle. Pretty tasty, but not something I feel the need to drink again. Bottle. Very pretty dark gold pour with thin white head. Interesting aroma of cold brewed coffee, quite hoppy, much more than the few other coffee IPAs I’ve tried, coffee notes are vegetal, but quite roasty as well, not like raw coffee. Flavor of coffee, nice hoppy finish, quite fruity without being sweet. Med-full palate with med carbonation, dry finish. Tasty.
