COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anvil ESB is our interpretation of a traditional British-style pub ale. Deep amber in color, a toasty character from British malts and a touch of kettle caramelization blend seamlessly with a mild English hop profile. Its delicate balance of flavors will keep you coming back pint after pint, making it a complex creation we’re proud to call our flagship beer.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 25 Feb 2017) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, treacle-toffee and orange peel. Malty, slightly fruity taste with caramel, toffee, orange peel, dried apricots and a balanced bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

22oz bottle on 4th Feb 2017 in my daughters new place in Laguna Niguel. Really enjoyed this beer, good amber colour, full, lasting head. Malty front, center and finish, caramel sweetness tempered (just) by a slightly bitter hop presence.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear amber with small beige head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is english yeast and toasted malt. Medium body, toast, caramel, light dry finish, good.

From bottle in English pint glass. Pours rusty bronze and clear with billowing, lively head. Mild malt aroma that transformed nicely upon warming as did the taste with some caramel sweetness in the finish without much bitterness.
