COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Anvil ESB is our interpretation of a traditional British-style pub ale. Deep amber in color, a toasty character from British malts and a touch of kettle caramelization blend seamlessly with a mild English hop profile. Its delicate balance of flavors will keep you coming back pint after pint, making it a complex creation were proud to call our flagship beer.

From bottle in English pint glass. Pours rusty bronze and clear with billowing, lively head. Mild malt aroma that transformed nicely upon warming as did the taste with some caramel sweetness in the finish without much bitterness.

Starts with a caramel and sweet notes, followed by a nice bitter aroma, very well balanced and easy going beer.

coppery red slightly turbid medium intensity. Regular crown middle bubble and sand color with good permanence leaving as cobweb lace. Aromas of medium intensity roasted malt, caramel and herbal hops. The palate is light-bodied with little input carbonation bitter and sweet to creamy caramel, sweet and fruity rebound step. slightly metallic and fruity, dry hoppy little lasting background. Little complexity, perfect execution style.

Tough one to call... love the style, but this bucks tradition. Pours a clear amber-brown of the style. Aroma is unexpected with caramel bread being slightly overwhelmed by a hoppy funk. Flavor is similar though much better. Again some unwanted hop bitter mingling with an otherwise-delicious sweet malt. Finish is fairly dry and clean.

Sampler at AEON Liquor. Huge caramel, malt-forward nose with bread, raisin toasted nuts. Very malt-forward with some toasted bitterness. Not too sweet, with dry finish. Nice enough for a style Im not crazy about.

On tap at Codys Irish Pub, Essex Junction, VT. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange to toasty amber color with a thin bar pours white head that slides away. The aroma has a big English sweet fruity esters with a smooth aromatic earthy malt and some grassy hops coming together nicely. The flavor brings it together, the malty sweetness and the grassy hops. Smooth and swerves into the aftertaste with a quick crisp finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a great sessionability about. Low carbonation. Smooth, almost sticky. Overall, as an ESB, this is a top notch one by style, as it presents very clean flavors. Id have again with some fish n chips.
