(AleSmith Decadence 2008 - Barrel Aged) Bottle 750 ml at home, neck wrapped in a gold foil, bottle 340/433. Served into a snifter, ABV 11%
Deep brown colour on the body, tall but thin beige head on top, with average retention.
Aroma of soy sauce, alcohol, bourbon, wood, cork, fortified wine, alcohol.
Taste is initially sweet with a light sour touch following, but only for a while. Bourbon is coming after that, wood and cork again, strong alcohol, tanines, red grapes and vinioous notes, more bourbon on the finish, more warming alcohol.
Medium thick body, good carbonation, dry and tart on the palate.
Different than what I expected but still pretty damn good. pushkinwow (2850) - Ottawa, CANADA - SEP 4, 2015
Bottle. Dark mahogany with a tan head. Amazing snoof of boozy bourbon, vanilla, oak, plum, raisin, mild oxidization, then you get some pit fruit with a milt acidity and tartness that is odd when juxtaposed with more vanilla, bourbon and sweet malts, overall quite dry with mild carbonation and moderate body. Odd mix for sure. Boutip (6432) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 10, 2015
Bottle: Poured a clear dark copper color ale with a medium size foamy head with OK retention. Aroma of caramelized malt notes with light dry fruits notes is very enticing. Taste is a mix of caramelized malt notes with light dry fruits but also of tart and lightly acidic notes. Body is about average with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. The mix between the caramelized malt notes and dry fruits with the tart and acidic flavors is bit singular and not something I am sure I would want to revisit very often. thomashall (999) - New Hope, Minnesota, USA - JUN 5, 2015
Bomber shared by Armin....Bottle #1 actually. Dark brown pour. Taste is like a sour stout....I’m sure this was not intended, guessing this was infected. Even so the taste was not terrible. Hope I get to try it again sometime. arminjewell (9689) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAY 30, 2015
Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks nimbleprop. Dark brownish pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of green apple, vinegar, hints of oak, dark chocolate, toffee, hints of fruit, hints of spice. Taste was a mix of oak, bourbon, tart fruit, hints of green apple, touch of oak, slight cherry, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter.

Bomber shared by Armin - thanks! This is infected. Fruity and malty. This is actually bottle #1 / 433, which is cool. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 13, 2014
[6206-20140228] Bottle. Fruity toasted cherry and raisiny fruit aroma. Murky, dark brown red body with a quick bubbly off-white head. Chewy fruity citrus-infused malt grain flavour. Medium-full body. Good but overpowering toasted fruit at first. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

Overheard: "That’s a piece of sexy right there."
2014-02-28. Hazy dark amber brown body with a small beige head. 3++ Aroma is sweet and fruity, notes of raisins, sweet malt base. Flavour is quite sweet, fruity, it has a lightly tangy undercurrent throughout but especially in the finish, sweet raisins, possible light oxidation? Smooth average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. Nice but I suspect it is a bit past its prime. Bottle shared by BlankboyJoeMcPhee (9451) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 9, 2014
"I saw him do Hamlet in Central Park."
"Who? Terry Crews?!?!?"
"No, no, no! Andre Braugher!"
Thanks blankboy. Deep amber ruddy pour with a thin head. The nose is awesome - some bright raisin and grapey sweetness along with a bit of oxidized malt character. Bright and raisiny with a lot soft fruit. Some soft apricot and a bit of juicy berry. Lingering barrel character with some soft fruit. Very tasty. bottle 659, super bourboney nose, intense fruit flavor in the finish.Wow leaves a super deep oak taste on the back of your tongue. This is the way barrel aged beers should taste
