750ml bottle courtesy of GT2 at DC tasting. Murky thick brown-amber-burgundy. Oily beige head. Big caramel bourbon aroma. Pretty damn nice beverage. Balanced, despite the massively rich sweetness. Mellowed/lost carbonation in the mouthfeel, but still excellent. Quite a treat. mikem409 (2032) - bloomfield, Michigan, USA - JAN 12, 2013
Bottle. Pours murky brown. Aroma of tart cherry and oak. Taste is slight hop and tangy funk. This has gone sour wedgie9 (2703) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 18, 2012
Tasted on 12/18/12 from a capped 750mL bottle obtained in a trade. Pours hazy, dark cola brown with a thin tan head that slowly recedes to a thin, bubbly collar of lace. The nose is very malty with tons of caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, tons of bourbon, and just a light tinge of sour tartness at the end. The flavor is quite the same, just like a very malty English style barley wine with tons of bourbon up front, with a dry, sour finish. The body is full and syrupy with light carbonation and a long malty caramel, brown sugar, and bourbon, but very sour finish. hopscotch (11433) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - DEC 10, 2012
Bottle... Dark brown ale with a small, fat-bubbled khaki head. Good retention. The bouquet is a mélange of prune, brown sugar, dark raisins, cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate yogurt. Full-bodied and silky with modest carbonation. The flavor is an odd marriage of tart lactic acid and semi-sweet caramel flanked by a prune-like phenol. Finishes tangy, estery and phenolic with a kiss of lactic acid. Bottle courtesy of richiesd! radagast83 (8624) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - NOV 27, 2012
Bottle provided by GT2. Thanks! Poured a hazy brown cola color with a wispy off-white head. Aroma was a bit of vanilla oak notes, with some toffee, sweet malts. Flavor was light funk, with some sweet toffee, vanilla and a bit of booze behind it.

Shared by GT. Thanks man!
The beer is cola brown with a small tan head. The aroma brings a potent dose of oak, funk, malt, toffee, booze, vanilla. The flavor offers toast with vanilla, bourbon, oak. Complex and wonderful. Present sourness throughout. Amazingly, this works quite well. I am really surprised how well the sour character and robust barleywine components mesh together. Medium bodied with moderately low carbonation. Light warming alcohol in the finish. Overall, this was thoroughly enjoyable. I could sip on this all night. tderoeck (10617) - Gent, BELGIUM - NOV 25, 2012

Clear cola brown beer, no head. Aroma: very spicy, pepper, wood, dark caramel, hint of mocha, vanilla, sugary, syrup, dried fruits, rum raisins, alcohol. MF: soft carbon, full body, thick almost syrupy texture. Taste: surprisingly sour start, sour white wine, unripe red forest fruits, red currants, then caramel, sweet alcohol is very numbing, bit spicy, citric acidity, figs, sour molasses (I have this bottle of Lebanese sour molasses from figs, don’t ask). Aftertaste: little bitter, then sweet and sour, red currants, big sugary, spices, vanilla, lots of alcohol, bit of dried fruits and molasses.
75cl bottle, thanks GT2. Medium tan head, muddy cola-brown body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, vinous, some sour, light dusky oxidation. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some vinous, sour, light chocolate. Sticky medium-full body, light acidity, low carbonation. CaptainCougar (7634) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - NOV 23, 2012
Bottle #195/433 shared by GT2: pours a slightly hazy deep copper mahogany with a spotty-lacing beige head. Has a lightly sweet toasty dark caramel and dark fruity nose with a good amount of bourbon and vanilla. Starts with good fullness and dark malty sweetness with good complexity and light fruity tartness before a drier bittersweet finish. Well-balanced and complex and has aged well. 750mL #195 of 433 bottles. Muddy brune pour. Yellow foam. Ultra rich umami nose with truffle, soy, porcini mushroom, almost like aged dark sake or Sam Adams Millennium. Wow. Taste is tangy, red wine, soy, still so much savory character. Lemon tea. Thinner, tangy finish. Umami experience.
