(Bottle purchased recently, no vintage on the bottle, but it was an Imperial Porter) Nice big chocolate aroma, with underlying hints of dark fruits and roast. Pours an opaque black with a thick tan head. Flavor has strong roasted notes, touches of chocolate and coffee, and a hint of vanilla. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish is all bittersweet chocolate. A really nice beer that I’d like to pick up some more of to cellar.
Bottle courtesy of hackobock. Hazy blakish dark brown pour with a frothy pale mocha head. Dusty toasted malty nose. Raisins & prunes. Leather, port & wood. Sweet, sl bitter & malty. Thick round mouth. Cardboard all over. I’m sure this was great at its height but now it’s just too old. hackobock (4045) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - DEC 28, 2016
