Grand Cru is a dark chestnut-colored Belgian-style Ale with vibrant fermentation aromas of fruity esters and spicy phenols. A sweet caramel malt, raisin, and plum-like character combines with the complex fermentation profile of our Belgian yeast strain and hints of bittersweet chocolate in the finish. Its full body and velvety mouthfeel make for a slow and satisfying drinking experience. Grand Cru is meant to be savored and will age nicely.

Bottle at CBC, London, thanks to Warren. Pours hazy, dark ruby with a sturdy, creamy white head. Aroma hold caramel, Belgian yeast and candi, some leafy and herbal hops. Very sweet flavor, caramel and toffee, toasted candi and malts, light herbs. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Fairly warming finish, lots of sweetness, brown and toasty sugar, caramel and toffee, slight herbal bitters, rich cake, mild yeast. Excellent beer.

Bottle from rsted; 10% ABV
Mahogany color, dark, with small sized creamy head. Nice aroma of caramel, mature, with a light scent of dark fruits, vanilla and wood. Bold structure; strong caramel and malt flavor, quite sweet, with a light fruitiness and some late liquorice; low bitterness; in the final the alcohol warmth is clearly perceived (maybe too much). Similar to many common Strong Ales from Belgium, nothing spectacular, but a solid brew indeed.

Geringe Herbe, hohe Karbonisierung. Slich, harmonisch, voll. Zudem etwas salzig. Smalziger Ausklang. Vollmundiges gelungenes Bier. 11/12/12/13/12/12

2013 Bottle, big thanks to JF, split at the pre stag tasting in the Sham, 20/06/13. Hazed dark amber with an off white head that dissipates to the edge. Nose is toffee, dates, dark fruit, prunes, burnt sugars, light yeast esters, woody notes. Taste comprises toffee, demerara sugar, toasted malt, dark fruit, oaky notes, dates, figs, light spice, caramel, touch of booze, Belgian yeasts. Full bodied, fine carbonation, sugars and light booze in the finish. Decent stuff but no world beater.

LCRBM2. Hazy chestnut colour with no head. Subtle sour aroma. Good toffee and good hops. Good raisin fruit. Citrus stops it being flabby. Hops are excellent. This took me a bit by surprise and I very much liked it. Went back for more.
