Grand Cru is a dark chestnut-colored Belgian-style Ale with vibrant fermentation aromas of fruity esters and spicy phenols. A sweet caramel malt, raisin, and plum-like character combines with the complex fermentation profile of our Belgian yeast strain and hints of bittersweet chocolate in the finish. Its full body and velvety mouthfeel make for a slow and satisfying drinking experience. Grand Cru is meant to be savored and will age nicely.

750 ml Bottle. Pours a deep amber/burgundy color with a cap of beige foam and bubbles. Aroma has notes of brown sugar, vanilla and dark fruit in addition to some toffee and alcohol around the edges. The taste opens up with lots of candi sugar, caramel and Belgian yeast flavors along with some toasted malt, raisin and black cherry. Toward the end theres a bit of cocoa, plum and woody alcohol in the background. The body is silky smooth and creamy with heavy carbonation and a dry, malty finish. Overall, a rich malt bomb with just enough of a Belgian influence to hold all the massive flavors together.

Flaska frn Galatea, privatimport. Provning med Nerikes lsllskap, tema amerikanska tungviktare, del II. Flaska frn augusti, 2014. Mahognybrun med litet vitbeiget skum. St, maltig doft med mycket torkad frukt, vermogna pplen, lite ntiga inslag, en aning boozy, kandisocker. Ngot strre i kroppen. St men inte superst. I smaken framtrder lite mer rostade och ltt syrliga toner som balanserar upp stman fint. Tung, maltig, men samtidigt elegant. Knns som den jmnat ut sig ngot av ldern.

750 ml bottle from Hawthorne Cellars. Pours orange-amber with very small cream-coloured head. Aroma is yeast and dark fruit. Flavours are dark fruit over a malty base. A bit less fermentation than I would like, but otherwise very, very good. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Finally getting to try this one, aromas of booze soaked raisins and plums, sweet caramel malts abound. Flavor is much the same, the alcohol isnt as noticeable as you would think, the flavors meld together nicely.
