COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Horny Devil is our interpretation of a Belgian-style Golden Ale. Brewed with authentic Belgian ingredients including candi sugar and a Trappist yeast strain, its fruity and spicy aromas include notes of orange, banana, and peppercorns. Coriander seeds add refreshing citrus notes which meld seamlessly with the beer’s delicate malt. Horny Devil finishes with a lively carbonation and a refreshingly dry finish.

Bottle via Beer World Catskill. A new addition to the beer world inventory. A big west coast body supports and surrounds the Belgian ale doing a decent job of escaping from it all. Candi sugar, check. Coriander, check. Hops are muted but discernible. Citric finish, check. Muted pale yellow in the large glass. thinner head. Thin yet fluffy quaff lines are left behind. A pleasant consummation of ingredients helps disguise the 11% fairly well, but not completely. Great with dinner.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is very estery with bubblegum, yeast, tons of coriander, sugar, sweet ripe fruits, and banana. Flavour is very sweet and only lightly bitter. Body is medium, a bit sticky in the mouth. Sweet and too heavy on the coriander, with bubblegum. Not the epiphany I expected considering it's Alesmith.

UPDATED: JAN 8, 2018 Trochę może za słodko jak dla mnie, ale w sumie to spiłem może ze 100 ml. Poprawię, to wrócę i napiszę więcej. Jak na razie naprawdę świetna Belgia i trochę fajnego chmielu.

Bardzo soczyste, kojarzy się z pestkowcami, śliwkami. Pite razem z Gulden Draak - wypada dużo lepiej. Mniej mdłe, bardziej owocowe.

On tap at Beer NV. Crystal clear golden color. Thin white head. Clean crisp apple and fruity spice flavors. Some banana too. Very good example of the style.

19th December 2017. Ordered as part of a Flight in Crush & Brew, Temecula. Really pleased to see this, as I have wanted to try it for some time. Light golden pour, wispy head. sweet taste with coriander flavours within. If I hadn't known what it was I would have labelled it as 'Tramp Juice' because of it's sweetness and obvious alcohol level. Glad I've tried it, glad I didn't have to drink a lot though.

Taps hazy golden with a good eggshell head. Aroma presents fruity, yeasty, malty and butterscotch tones. Flavor features tropical fruit, yeasty, malty, and shy butterscotch tones. Mouthfeel offers fair body and good fizz. Devilishly good.

Bill Becker (2007) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - OCT 17, 2017
From Sep 2006 Pours from foiled and capped 750ml a clear medium gold which turns to cloudy (further in to the bottle) with lots of bubbles and a medium sized head of foam that shrank very quickly leaving a fine layer with lacing. The smell is very lemony and spicy with notes of yeast and a pretty strong nose of alcohol. The taste, up front, is a very citric bitter/sour with the "mentioned on the label" Coriander and has notes of bread but... it's also very sweet, a Malt Liquor kind of sweetness...my initial impression is that the flavours aren't meshing very well together. After a few more sips, I'm starting to "see" and appreciate the harmony that *is* actually there and this becomes a fine sipper. The sweetness that I complained about earlier is now well balanced and in fact taken over by the spice and citrus from the hops. Oh and yes, there's certainly some warming from this 11%abv but Alesmith did a pretty fine job of hiding it. I might have to get some more of this for, what I'm sure will be, the upcoming harsh winter that is due here in Casper. Bottom line: My initial impression was so-so but the more I sipped on this Belgian Strong Pale Ale, the more it pleased my palate. My hat's off to Alesmith once again!
