3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2013 Pours an orange/ruby with a one finger, off-white head that thins to a film. Nice lacing.Aroma has big notes of tropical fruits, alcohol, slight bread, and caramel.Taste is a balanced malty/bitter with a touch of fruity malt with a solild bitter aftertaste. Medium body with a low-medium carbonation. Slightly slick and syrupy with a solid amount of bubbles.Overall very nice. Solid aroma, taste, and texture.
Clear amber color with beige head. Aroma has caramelized malt and earthy, resiny , woody hop notes. Taste is really well balanced with rich, complex malts and earthy hop bitterness. Medium body, a bit sticky, soft carbonation. A great american style barleywine. Angelmonster (202) - Colorado, USA - JAN 16, 2018
Pours a copper, clear body. Head is 1/4 inch and beige. Lacing is great and head retention is good for a barleywine.
Smells of caramel malt, toffee, slight butterscotch. Candied ginger is detected.,theres also some metallic copper coming through as beer warms. Alcohol is light for 11%, no hops present.
Taste is big on caramelized sugar, liquid gold malt extract, and toffee that ends spicy. Alcohol becomes apparent the more i sip on it.
Mouthfeel is nice, syrupy and slightly carbonated. Head retention added a silky presence going down.
Overall this is a good interpretation of what a classic barleywine should taste like. Extremely malt forward and sweet with a alcohol/liquour finish. Great Desert beer, would love to try barrel aged versions.

Poured from bomber from 2013. Pours amber with a tan head. Caramel malt aroma. Flavor is sweet caramel malt with dark fruits. Boozy finish. Svesse (8942) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - DEC 30, 2017
(Bottle) Dark amber colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of resin, caramel, toast, dark rye bread, pine needles, citrus, some burnt rubber and a touch of alcohol. Malty, hoppy taste with caramel, toffee, orange peel, resin, dried fruit, toasted rye bread, a touch of chocolate and a finish with a generous citric, resiny bitterness and a warming touch of alcohol. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Solid and well made American style barley wine, with generous amounts of resiny/citric hops and a solid malt profile to back it up. Great beer!

Aroma :caramel boozand toffe very good and strong
Appereance: nuttet, light Brown, with a ok off White head.
Taste : extremely complex, one if not the most complex and well rounded but at the same time extreme beers I'we ever tasted. beermastersasho (159) - - DEC 29, 2017
Fantastic beer, smooth and full body. Aroma of choco, closed to imperial stout but in barley-wine form. You cannot feel the alco at all. I took it aged, was not so sparkling, was brown, but delicious and sweet, honey-like, fruity. polishonion (30) - - DEC 22, 2017
UPDATED: DEC 22, 2017 My treacherous faces-Very nice amber color,Small head that had a small amount of staying power,Fruity aroma sort of sweet, raisins and malt with a hint of alcohol and a slight wine like character IMO.The flavor was malty sweet and definately fruity with a nice amount of alcohol but not enough to make it hard to drink, theres almost more flavors here then i can identify they change so quick it would take 2 bottles for me to pick them all out.I confess i have a slow pallate. The after taste was malty sweet and kind of lingering on that with a heavy feel in the mouth. The alcohol is nicely done and fairly well balanced .cat even tasted. clear brown, small offwhite head.
mild subdued well blended aroma of malts, toasted bread, booze, dark bitter caramel.
flavor is malts, fainter toasted bread, fainter dark bitter caramel, also faint dried fruits. The bnalance between flavors is really well done.
while the flavor appears rather simple, it is in fact on further inspection very layered and well composed, most things balance out and do not overcome the overall flavor. this is soft.. well composed, gourmet food, i mean gourmet beer. A great sipper, a great barley wine.

Manca un po' di corpo, ma è decisamente un gran barleywine con una bella dose di luppolo!
