[2002 vintage sampled July 25th 2004 - bottle 113/115] A black beer with a fine though disappearing head with hue close to chocolate brown. The aroma is powerful; sweet malty with notes of chocolate, coffee, and alcohol (no wonder with an ABV of 12%). The flavor has loads of alcohol burning the tongue, but it is still very well rounded because it contains strong notes of roasted bread, coffee, and chocolate. It has a magnificent body. A great beer - I was positively surprised of this one. I have to pay my tribute to Oakes for getting his hands on this beer (out of the brewmasters cellar) for the European Summer Party and hauling it all the way to Stockholm - thanks Josh! joergen (28142) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 7, 2007

Pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is vanilla, liquorice, some roasted notes as well as some slight alcoholic notes. Flavour is vanilla, ripe fruits, alcohol, liquorice and some mild sherry notes.
Bottled, #113. Black, small head. Aroma of chocolate and whiskey, Roasty with very rich maltiness. There’s some molassess and coffee there, still it feels dry. Flavours are really intensive, and still they’ve managed to get good balance among all the huge flavours. Salty licorice and bourbon in the finish. UPDATED: SEP 11, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Vintage 2004 - bottle # 104/228, Pours completely black and opaque with a dense, light brown head. Distinct bourbon aroma with lots of roasted malt. Very solid body with an extremely complex flavour pattern: burned malts, dried fruits, coffee and oaky bourbon. Quite a bitter finish. A grand Oaked Imperial Stout, but I’ve had them even better. 291206 and 070907 madmitch76 (24807) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2011

Bottle 35/235 of 2006. Opaque black beer. Short lived tan head. Smooth and woody start followed by coffee malt and a fair bit of alcohol! Dry rich finish with coffee bitterness and more alcohol. Much better than the standard version! Complex to the point of being hard to pin down!

2009 Bottle. THE stout tasting Pt1. Thanks to Paul for another bite of this big apple! Massive tan head Softish airy palate. Aniseed alcohol. Smooth dark malt. Mellow mild wood and vanilla. Mild smooth coffee. The alcohol is still a bit lively here, a tad too much so but still pretty good. 3.7
A massive indebtedness for GT2 for hooking up with biggirlpanties whose parents actually camped out overnight to score this one for us - thanks to all! Pours opaque brown black, massive brown head with fine and solid lacing with good retention. Aroma of vanilla, smooth melted dark chocolate, subtle edge of coffee. Taste is extremely smooth whiskey laced espresso soda with dark cocoa and a slightly boozy and chocolate syrupy finish. Fantastic.
